So, before, I have installed another desktop environment which after installation it made a startup sound, and changed one of my fonts, and things like these which I could never make them like before.

However, desktop environments will often "argue" with each other and overwrite settings.

Made me sure it's not a random thing that just happened for me.

now after a while, again, It passed my mind to have multiple desktop environments. Is there anyway to install them without them arguing and interfering with each other and without overwriting settings and etc.. ?

When I boot into 5.8.0-49-generic or 5.8.0-50-generic, my system literally breaks (my WiFi, touch pad, Ethernet, speakers, screen brightness adjustment, and Bluetooth don't work).

So, since then, I always boot into 5.8.0-48-generic, until a kernel release that doesn't cause bugs for my laptop.

Today, I thought that does Ubuntu automatically uninstall older kernels? So someday when I turn on the laptop, I see that there's no -48 kernel and it causes problems for me?

How to switch the display manager to tbsm?

I just installed tbsm display manager from their source, but I don't know how to switch to it, I know I can go to lightdm with dpkg-reconfigure lightdm but I couldn't figure it out how to switch to tbsm

so installing windows along ubuntu is not the best option as far as I know and I don't want to loose my current ubuntu

So Is there any way to back up the whole system and after installing windows, install the back up alongside it?

(By the way I have hybrid hard drive)

Is there a way to make the status bar on the top the screen to show both georgian and persian date?

I have few symlink folders to my HDD hard drive (I have Hybrid hard drive and my home folder is on my SSD hard drive), and apps such as vlc media player and spotify can't open,use that folder, for example(my videos folder is symlink): VLC is unable to open the MRL 'file:///home/parsa/Videos/video.mp4'. Check the log for details.

or spotify crashes when I want to import local songs from those folders.

How can I solve this problem?

How can I install Pantheon desktop environment(stable) on Ubuntu 20.04? Everything I found on the internet was for old version or not working(people said in the comments).

I just installed DEEPIN desktop environment using sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntudde-dev/stable sudo apt install ubuntudde-dev

And just made sure I'm on lightdm sudo dpkg-reconfigure lightdm

And I just powered off the laptop, now I'm turning it on and it stucks on the page loading ubuntu

I can't access the hard disk from the 'files' and If i enter the directory of that i can't edit it, just read-only... Just when i click on the /hdd in the gnome-disks , then i could edit it

I'm a bit confused, I just want to use my HDD as where i save my files, and it would be great if i can link the folders in home to there.
