I have been using Thunderbird on my Dell Linux boxes for about 8 years now with no issues.

I am currently running Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS on a Dell Inc. XPS 15 9510. and run two email accounts through outlook.Office365.com for work. This week I could no longer access my email through Thunderbird version 102.2.2 (64-bit). I am getting the message "login to server outlook.office365.com with username [email protected] has failed"

I can login to my email through a browser but as I spend quite a bit of time off the grid I really prefer to use Thunderbird. I have re-entered the email address as well as changed the password but neither of those things are working.

Any ideas?

After running sudo apt update on my terminal I am informed that 32 packages can be updated.

However, upon trying to upgrade I receive the following message:

Configuration file '/etc/sane.d/dll.conf' ==> Modified (by you or by a script) since installation. ==> Package distributor has shipped an updated version. What would you like to do about it ?

I chose D to see the difference before I decided. Now the program will not allow me to continue.

Any ideas?

Looks like the cache is still locked but it moved me back to the prompt.

^Citing for cache lock: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock. It is held by process 2743 (dpkg)... 234s

I am trying to prevent remote access for my laptop.

I went into sshd_config to try and set it up. My IT guy recommended the following changes to accomplish this:

PermitRootLogin no
PubkeyAuthentication no
PasswordAuthentication no

However, when I went to make the changes the line of code says:

#PermitRootLogin prohibit

This seems like a double negative. so yes means prohibit and no means don't prohibit. Can anyone confirm?

I recently had a spear fishing attempt on my Linux Ubuntu 18.04 I changed passwords and ran Chkrootkit and Clamscan

my chkrootkit scan came up with the following:

suspicious files and directories were found:

Is there a way to test if these are false positives? I update my software regularly.
