After updating UnGoogled-Chromium Web-Browser to the latest version:

Version 95.0.4638.54 (Official Build, ungoogled-chromium) Ubuntu (64-bit)

The browser extension uBlock Origin blocks any connection of the UnGoogled-Chromium Web-Browser.
As soon as I disable uBlock Origin, the browser works.
I then uninstalled uBlock Origin 1.33.2 and installed the latest version 1.40.8, no change, the extension blocks all connections of the web browser.

What can I do?
I need this script and add blocker, is the best one.

I've been using the UnGoogled-Chromium Web-Browser for two years now and never had any problems with it until yesterday, the only thing I did was an update

Update command:

apt autoclean && apt clean && apt update --fix-missing && apt --fix-broken install && apt upgrade && apt dist-upgrade && apt autoremove

since then the browser doesn't want to connect to the internet anymore. The way I see it, the browser is trying to connect via Bluetooth instead of WiFi.

No USB tethering device available.

When I connect the smartphone via USB to my laptop, I select "USB tethering", but the device is not displayed in Kubuntu. Connecting to the HotSpot via WiFi works.

Long story short, I did the following:

apt remove --purge kdevelop
find /usr/ -type f -name "*kdev*.so*"
rm -rf /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libblockdev.so.2.0.0
apt remove --purge kwrite
find /usr/ -type f -name "*kwrite*.so*"
rm -rf /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kf5/kded/kwrited.so
apt autoremove
apt install kwrite
apt install kdevelop

and now some things don't work anymore; some programs take 5 minutes to start and some do not start at all.

These files are not installed and I think that is the problem.

One possible solution is to reinstall the KDE Plasma desktop, but I don't want to lose my settings (colors, icons, animations, features...), I've been working on this for 1 month and I'm still not done.

How can I solve this without losing my desktop settings?

If you want to know why I did this, here is the full version: I was missing a function in Kate and KDevelop, the plus sign for opening folders in the sidebar. Kubuntu uses version 19... of Kate, but there is already version 21... available and in the 21 version the plus sign is present. There is no repo for Kate only the Ubuntu reopsetory, so I had to download the appimage. After I started the Kate app image, I had to wait about 30 seconds when clicking on a folder until it opened. I thought this is because Kate V.19... is installed and uninstalled Kate V.19 with apt remove --purge kate. But nothing has changed. Then I remembered that Kdevelop is also installed and it also works with Kate, so I uninstalled KDevelop too (apt remove --purge kdevelop). But it didn't help either, so I cleaned the system with apt autoremove and searched for Kate files and removed them. after esystem reboot it started. The KDE Plasma Desktop takes 5 minutes to start. Dolphin File Exlorer takes 5 minutes to start and can't access other partitions and drives. GNOME Disk Utility does not start at all, and so on.

I would like to create an alias with the function to perform a DuckDuckGo search with W3M via the Command Line Interface (CLI).

I have already created the alias and the DuckDuckGo search engine is called. However, I would also like to enter a search keyword after the alias in the CLI and I do not know how to do that. Example:

alias duckit="w3m https://lite.duckduckgo.com/lite/"

When I enter the command duckit in the CLI, this alias calls the DuckDuckGo search engine and opens the web page. But I want the alias to also enter the search keyword in DuckDuckGo and show me the results.

So I tried adding ?q= at the end of the alias above:

alias duckit="w3m https://lite.duckduckgo.com/lite/?q="

However, running it as follows does not work:

duckit test

I know that this question has already been asked but the answers do not solve my problem.

MySQL-Server version: 8.0.23-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 (Ubuntu)
OS: Kubuntu 20.04 amd64

I have now uninstalled and reinstalled MySQL Server 8.0.
During the first MySQL server installation I was asked for password validation policy

I selected: level 2 = STRONG.

Now, after reinstalling MySQL server, when I run mysql_secure_installation, the question about "password validation policy" is not asked anymore.
I think this issue is related to the "password validation policy", because after the "Kubuntu 20.04" installation I uninstalled the KWalletManager and now the passwords can only be stored in plain text, like my WiFi password. I tried to fix this by reinstalling "KWalletManager" but for some reason it did not work.

How to fix this?

I`m trying to install Quite Universal Circuit Simulator from source code and get error:

configure: error: Qt >= 4.6.0 is required.

How do I get this work?

I try to start the system without a boot loader for faster boot.
I compiled the Linux-kernel-5.8.5 and copied the .../arch/x86/boot/bzImage file to /boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu.efi. Reboot in to BIOS, selected ubuntu.efi and added to the secure boot.
The system starts but I get the following error:

The pci, fs and nvme driver are build in the kernel (*).

I am using the Chromium web browser on Ubuntu 20.04 and have a local proxy sever running.
Since a web browser update a long time ago, the browser can no longer connect to a proxy server via the system settings (Menu... / System Settings / Setting / Proxy). Since then you have to use browser extensions (Proxy Helper - Tiny Proxy Configurator...) or edit files in the system, like:

sudo nano /usr/share/applications/chromium-browser.desktop
Exec=chromium-browser %U --proxy-server=127.0.0.1:8118

to connect the browser to the proxy.

What are these settings in the system for?
Will that work again one day?
It is annoying to constantly install extensions or system editing for a simple function that
already worked without problems under Windows 98.
Can't that just normally work?
