I am trying to file share from Ubuntu 20.04 desktop to Win 10 laptop. I live in Welsh hills with no neighbours and no landline (too slow) but have good data via iPhone or iPad (usually 25 to 30 Mb). I have installed Samba and shared necessary directory's and ticking guest. From Ubuntu I get "folder empty" when I click on Windows Network with nothing found from Win laptop network.
I have had this working a long time ago with Win 7 (although that was with BT landline/hub) but cannot connect since Win 10. All the "how to's" I've found refer to things no longer available in Win 10. I can use terminal and command prompt but don't have the knowledge to know what to type. Or is it impossible to file share with my setup?
Vic's questions
It comes up with message "Are you trying to play dvd without libdvdcss?" I have tried all the command line fixes listed including the one that says it's for Ubuntu 20 but all return variations on "not found". What am i missing? Screen grab was taken from response and cut/pasted directly into terminal
I am trying to follow the tutorial here A GPX file (second example) but "Temporal" is missing from the properties dialogue box. I deleted Maderia and loaded Coruna in case that was the problem but "Temporal" is still missing from properties. I also un-installed Time Manager but no difference. Is there something that needs to be done to activate this property?
The time manager in Qgis demands date in YYYY-MM-DD format. I have a large text file with the dates in DD/MM/YYYYY format. It's too large to manually change format. Is there any way of automating this process? I have tried altering format in Libre office but it still stays the original format. The date format required is 2020-01-16. Human name fields removed.

When it gets to the white background headed "configuring libdvd-pkg" it hangs and the OK at the bottom of screen does not respond at all. Does it just take a long time or is something not working?
It must be there somewhere but it eludes me at the moment.
I have a desktop with Asus P6X58D motherboard and Realtek RTL8811 AU Wireless LAN card. It is now dual boot Windows 10/Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. I have no LAN and rely on chaining to iPad.
The card is working correctly when booted into Windows but the adaptor isn't being recognised in Ubuntu. It worked correctly last time I had Windows 10 and Ubuntu LTS 16 loaded.
Any ideas on how to make Ubuntu 20.04 LTS recognise the existence of the card?
