I use x2go (latest version installed from x2go ppa) to connect to another ubuntu 18.04 machine.

x2go has some shortcuts documented: https://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:usage:x2goclient

I'm specifically interested in

Ctrl + Alt + G: toggle autograb feature (pass all key to the x2go session when it is active; this helps with window cycling using Alt+Tab)

However, such shortcut seems to not work. Indeed, when I set the Display to Use whole display, the keyboard shortcuts are "grabbed" (that is, I can change the active window by pressing Alt+Tab). When I opt for Fullscreen or Custom, key combinations are not used by the x2go agent.

Ctrl + Alt + G shortcut has no effect at all.

Is it possible to switch keyboard combinations from the client to the remote desktop session?

I have set up private/public keys between a client and a server. I can do passwordless ssh logins.

I use x2go to establish remote desktop sessions from the client, with the following configuration:

However, I'm unable to achieve a passwordless login as described in https://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:advanced:authentication:passwordless-ssh

After being prompted for the passhprase, I still get prompted for the user password.

What is missing?

I have configured unattended-upgrades according to this guide.

However, Software Updater keeps asking me for confirmation of some software updates. As shown here:

I thought that unattended-upgrades would take care of these updates, too.

Is there a configuration that I am still missing for the updates that requires confirmation via gui?

I wonder if is it possible to automatically switch the default printer according to the wifi network to which the computer is connected.

I tryed to enable shell autocompletion uncommenting the following lines in my .bashrc:

However, this have a side effect. Even though autocomplete seems to work, when I open a new terminal, only a blinking cursor is presented:

I am returned to the usual user@machine:~$ prompt only after pressing Ctrl+C.

The normal behavior is restored if I comment the above lines (but no autocompletion any more).

I can't figure out what the problem is.

Indeed the last line shows what you predicted. But I don't know what to do with that file: should I delete it, or I mistakenly overwrote it? If so, what was the original content?

I'm moving from an old ubuntu box to a new one.

Is there a way to export the network manager settings from the old machine and import them in the new one?

I'd like to install Ubuntu 10.04 on a brand new Dell vostro v130. Dell notebooks usually come with a recovery partition, which allows you to restore the original Windows configuration of the notebook.

The question is: will installing grub in the master boot record overwrite the address of this partition, making it useless?
