Coming from the perspective of "normal" machines (i.e. consumer desktops/laptops) you can just download the x86-64 and it will work on the machine regardless of the particular components (so long as the processor architecture matches).
The Pi (to my non-expert eyes) is an ARM machine, so why is there a specific build for the Pi when it still targets ARM architecture?

I'm running Ubuntu in VirtualBox and it's working perfectly in almost every single way, except when trying to play videos in browsers. I get the behaviour as you can see in the recording below.
The recording is in Firefox but it happens in Chrome, too. Firefox does have some extensions, but Chrome is completely vanilla with nothing extra installed.
It's not just limited to YouTube, if I view any sort of video be it YouTube, Reddit, BBC News, etc, it will do the same - play for a moment, then stop.
If I drag the playback position indicator of a video, it will load the relevant sections of the video as I move it, but when I let go it will have the same broken behaviour.
Any ideas?

Background
I'm on VirtualBox 6.0.12. I had a drive which contained a /boot partition, and an encrypted (LUKS) main partition. I wished to remove the encryption and apparently the best way to do this was to migrate Ubuntu to a new drive.
Prior Actions
I used this answer to move the partition contents. I moved both /boot and the main / partition contents. As far as I can tell, it moved it just fine.

After doing this it seems to boot the Ubuntu partition okay, but got stuck at the (basic looking) Ubuntu 4 dot loading screen (like this one but with 18.04 text).
When I got stuck there, I looked to other answers and I tried to run boot-repair from the live CD but I just got back to the 4 dot loading screen.
Later Events
If I wait for long enough I get dropped to an initramfs screen, and upon trying to exit it I get this behaviour.
Playing around with enabling/disabling 3D acceleration and changing VirtualBox graphics driver don't seem to work.
Question
What actions, if any, can I take to fix this?
I am using Ubuntu 18.04. I realize with GNOME, or its extensions, I can do things like hide the title bar. However, I want to hide the title bar and still see the windows management icons like on Mac OS and Windows.
Is this possible?

When I try to import this with sudo nmcli connection import type openvpn file blah.ovpn I get the following.
Error: failed to import 'blah.ovpn': configuration error: unsupported blob/xml element (line 92).
Line 92 is where you see <tls-crypt>.
When I try sudo openvpn --config blah.ovpn I get the following.
Options error: Unrecognized option or missing parameter(s) in blah.ovpn:15: compress (2.3.10)
Line 15 is compress lz4. When I comment this out and try again, I get the following.
Options error: Unrecognized option or missing parameter(s) in blah.ovpn:20: tls-crypt (2.3.10)
Line 20 is just in two lines after -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- in the <ca> tag, which seems odd.
I've looked online and while I've seen similar errors I've not seen anyone having these exact problems that I have.
I created the .ovpn file on my Raspberry PI using pivpn. The generated files work smoothly on both my Windows machine, and my Android device, just not Ubuntu.
Any ideas?
I have a 1TB NTFS hard drive that I'd like Ubuntu to mount on startup. The settings here seem to suggest it should.
But when I try to access it from another program, it claims that it's not accessible.
In Nautilus, you can see it's unmounted and (unseen here) it prompts me to mount it by clicking.
When I click on it, it mounts it (as you can see since I can now eject it).
And after doing this, it's accessible in the other program.
Background:
On my Ubuntu machine, there are two user accounts. In an attempt to allow easy sharing of files and mutual access to virtual machine files, I created a folder called shared at the root directory.
When first using this, I saw immediately that it had just permission for my particular user account, even though it was at root level (makes perfect sense, I just didn't foresee it).
To remedy this I looked online and one sensible solution seemed to be to create a group containing the users I want to access the folder. In this vein, I created the group sharedcontent and added both myself and my partner's account to it. And then I recursively added all files and folders to this group.
Problem:
Under this shared folder is a Windows virtual machine. The issue arises that whenever I actually use VirtualBox to run this machine it seems to alter the permissions on certain files.
If the files begin in the "correct" state (group is set to sharedcontent) and userA uses VirtualBox, as soon as userA logs out and userB logs in, certain files now have owner and group set to userA which means VirtualBox can't access it under this user account.
I've got a temporary solution of running the following command each time either of us wants to use the Windows virtual machine but it's a pain.
sudo find /shared -exec chown currentUser:sharedcontent {} \;

Upon further investigation, it looks like even setting the correct group doesn't help. For VirtualBox to work it, it seems to require the current user to be the owner of the virtual machine files...
It's great news that Steam supports Linux, and will surely help with gaming on Linux. I've heard that Ubuntu is the distro that Steam officially supports, so it follows that you'd have the best Steam experience on Ubuntu.
My question is this:
Would any of the differences that make Lubuntu what it is and not Ubuntu, affect the quality of experience I would get with Steam?
In Windows there is a program called CPU Temp which shows various CPU temperatures, one which being the temperature at which point the computer will shut down to prevent damage to the CPU.
I have a script which will intelligently prevent the CPU going over a certain temperature, but I would like to know what temperature I can go up to :D
I have an old laptop prone to overheating and a good solution I found was limiting it's CPU usage to below 50%.
On Windows, I can do this by changing the power plan I am currently using, and altering the Minimum CPU Usage and and Maximum CPU Usage properties.
Where can I do something similar on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS?
I guess my question applies to software in general. Sometimes software is only available through .deb files, or sometimes up-to-date software is only available through downloaded .deb files, so will I lose automatic updating capabilities?
I can find an option in the mouse settings to bring the drag and drop time threshold to very small, which helps with accidental events, but I can't find an option to disable it all together.
The following image illustrates the partition setup I have in my head, but what I'm unsure about is the data partition.
I've heard Linux support for NTFS is fairly good nowadays, but since it is ultimately reverse engineered it is still not perfect. Is there a possibility I could lose data when Ubuntu is accessing it? And should I follow a different method to share files?
