I installed Manjaro then installed Ubuntu KDE on a second partition. I've decided I prefer Ubuntu and would like to delete the Manjaro partition and expand the Ubuntu.
Using KDE Partition Manager (see image), do I simply delete sda2, then move/resize sda3 by specifying 0 bytes before? I'm worried about screwing this up and ending up with a dead system.

I upgraded my system (clean install) to Ubuntu 20.04. I'm not a fan of "docks," and prefer the upper and lower panels to keep track of my favorite and running apps. So I installed Gnome Flashback.
However, Variety will not change wallpapers in Gnome Flashback (it does in the default Ubuntu desktop). In fact, I'm unable to change the wallpaper at all. Tweaks shows that the correct image is selected for both lock screen and desktop backgrounds, but neither are being rendered, just the default purple background.
Any way to get wallpapers working in Gnome Flashback? Or, barring that, to be able to customize the top panel to show my favorite apps in the default Ubuntu desktop?

FSlint can find duplicate files. But suppose one has 10,000 songs or images and wants to find ONLY those files that are identical but have different names? Right now, I get a list that has hundreds of dupes (in different folders). I want the names to be consistent, so I want to see only the identical files with different names, not identical files with the same name.
Can FSlint with advanced parameters (or a different program) accomplish this?
Each time I log in to Ubuntu 14.04, using fast user switching, my volume gets reset to about 10% and muted. I have to unmute and slide the volume control back to where I want it. This even happens if I just select "switch user," but then log back in as myself, without actually switching users.
I put this in my ~/.profile file:
amixer -D pulse set Master 50% unmute
It sets the volume correctly upon logging out and back in, but will not prevent it from muting when switching users.
I tried switching from Gnome (Metacity) to Ubuntu (default) because I wanted to try something with Unity. The screen appeared WAY zoomed in, with the Gnome menu bar still at the top, and the side dock momentarily visible, then disappeared. I tried switching back and logging in, and the desktop is screwed up: menus and icons about 4x the size they should be, the upper menu bar almost useless.
The screen resolution reports as 1920x1080, but is actually 1/4 of that, zoomed into the upper left quadrant. xrandr also reports 1920x1080, but if I use --scale 2.0 x 2.0, it refreshes at the correct resolution (but the menus, cursor, etc. are all wrong).
Other users are still fine; it's just my account.
Any ideas how I can "reset" this back to its correct size, etc.?
I just installed 12.04. I have a Canon MP970, which it recognized. However, all my programs print at 300DPI Draft. I want to change that to 600DPI Draft. I can do it manually but it isn't sticking and I have to do it every time.
I ran system-config-printer and changed the resolution, but it isn't flowing into my programs (gedit, LibreOffice, document viewer, etc.), even though the change does stick.
Any help?
