I run a MATLAB script in workspace 1. This generates several plots. In the mean time I switch to workspace 2 and work there. My problem is that the plots are popping up in workspace 2.
Is it possible to lock the software on a specific workspace, so while MATLAB generates the plots in workspace 1, I can work in workspace 2 without the disruption of the popping up plots?
How can I prevent users accessing anything but their own home directory?
For example, I have a NTFS partition mounted under /media/ntfs, so if the user logs in through ssh he can reach this partition. How can I disable the users to cd out from their home directory?
I would like to setup the wake-on-lan, the two PCs are connected through a switch.

I would like to backup my disk, I'm using only 24GB, but the full partition size 255GB. I would like to backup the whole system to an 32GB Flash Drive, just in case if the system it's not working, I still can boot from the USB Stick, How can I do that? In this case is dd a good option?

I unpacked the plugin to the following folder: ~/.gnome2/gedit/plugins but in the gedit doesn't show up the plugin.
