As I don't want unconfined snaps in my system, I would like to know what is the best way to have a Mate desktop on Ubuntu without installing the unconfined snaps that are included with Ubuntu MATE installation. i.e.: install Ubuntu Server and then install mate desktop package.
To clarify, I only want the standard Mate desktop without snaps.

I would like to use Mutter as a window manager on Gnome Flashback. According to GNOME website, this should be possible:

I'm using openssl to sign files, it works but I would like the private key file is encrypted with a password. These are the commands I'm using, I would like to know the equivalent commands using a password:

- Use the following command to generate your private key using the RSA algorithm:
$ openssl genrsa -aes256 -passout pass:foobar -out private.key 2048
- Use the following command to extract your public key:
$ openssl rsa -in private.key -passin pass:foobar -pubout -out public.key
- Use the following command to sign the file:
$ openssl dgst -sha512 -sign private.key -passin pass:foobar -out signature.bin file.txt
- To verify the signature:
$ openssl dgst -sha512 -verify public.key -signature signature.bin file.txt

I have all my grub options protected by password excepting the default Ubuntu option. This is done by adding "--unrestricted" to the boot option in /boot/grub/grub.cfg as explained here:
The problem is each time grub2 is updated the "--unrestricted" parameter disappears and I have to add it again. Is there any way to make this permanent?

We're currently still developing the theme, but you can try it out for yourself. Be warned though, this is a pre-release alpha state and not (yet) officially supported.

Why some steam games (as XCOM Enemy Unknown) need more RAM memory on Linux than on Windows? Minimum requirements for Windows are: Windows Vista / 2GB RAM and for Linux are: Ubuntu 14.04 (64 bit) and 4 GB RAM.
