I would like to try the calendar app from Elementary OS in vanilla Ubuntu. I followed the instructions in Maya Calendar from Elementary OS on Ubuntu, but they don't seem to work anymore; I guess the repo is outdated.
Is there a more recent source? Is that app still working in 2020, or has it been abandoned?
After a call ends, Skype (8.60.0.76) for Linux keeps the microphone open on my Linux (Ubuntu 20.04) machine. This is visible by the icons in the status bar
(the microphone icon disappears as soon as I quit Skype) and can be confirmed by running pavucontrol
Is this normal behavior? Should I be worried? Should I uninstall Skype and reinstall it?
After upgrading to Ubuntu 19.04, I have noticed a visible freeze of a couple of seconds whenever I click a button of a Gnome dialog window. One case when it appears is the screen unlock window, but even the "open file" dialog in most applications gives the same behaviour.
Journalctl displays some error messages that appear to be related [EDIT: the messages were a red herring apparently; they do not appear at the same time as the bug happens.]
Any ideas as to what could be causing it? Is it a known problem? Any experiment
How do I type an L with stroke or ł, which appears notably in Polish, when using the us-intl-altgr keyboard mapping for X? More generally, is there a way to find out systematically how I can produce a certain symbol with a given keymap?
I have searched online and found several illustrations of this layout, but none seems to include this symbol.
In order to set up Livepatch on Ubuntu 18.04, one needs to have a Ubuntu One account. Clearly this choice has privacy implications, and possibly also security ones (for instance, in theory, Canonical could choose to deploy malicious patches to one specific user only, and this would go undetected to the public).
Is the choice to require users to create an account purely a commercial choice, or is there a technical reason why an online account is needed, or more practical, to deploy these security patches? Is there anything in the Livepatch technology that could not be accomplished using purely .deb repositories?
Dropbox for Linux has the annoying habit to send a desktop notification every few hours telling me that my space is almost full. Is there a way (under Gnome-based Ubuntu 17.10 and newer) to filter out this message, while retaining all other notifications (both from Dropbox and other programs)?
Notifications work using Dbus, if I understand correctly, so I wonder if there is a way to 'intercept' this call to filter it out without having to patch and recompile Gnome.

In particular, I like the fact that the most important four shared resources on a computer are displayed without spurious information, and the color-coding that lets me figure out immediately the major offenders.
I have seen several process monitors and task managers in Linux, but nothing that matches the clarity of this display. In particular, most task managers limit themselves to CPU and memory.
Is there a process manager for Linux that mimics this GUI?
EDIT to make the question clearer: I am looking for a task manager that clearly displays the information in those four columns: a breakup of processor, memory, disk and network usage by process, possibly in an uncluttered UI and without other spurious information. I can find plenty of system monitoring tools on Linux that display only the first two columns of that table. I can also find tools that plot total network usage vs. time. Both do not seem as effective as Windows 10's task manager: they do not allow me to immediately identify which of the four is the bottleneck on my system and which process uses up the most of that resource.
My university provides me with a Google Gsuite account with unlimited Google Drive space and a Microsoft Office 365 account with plenty of Onedrive space.
Is it possible to use one of these as storage location for my backups with deja-dup? After installing a few Python modules, I find Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage (which apparently is not the same thing as Google Drive) and Rackspace as possible candidates, but not these ones.
