I am trying to install Ubuntu 20.04 LTS on virtual box 6.1.30 on my mac OS Monterey.

I successfully created a Virtual Machine and When I click on start, the installation process does not display, only the black screen is displaying and nothing else..

On Searching Google and Other, I found changing display setting may help, then I tried changing the Display -> Graphics Controller -> VMSVGA (in virtual box settings) but no success, I am not able to change to other Display settings, it says -> Invalid Settings.

I tried increasing Video Memory to 64 MB, but no success

Pl help me to identify the error and rectify it to install the Ubuntu 20.04 on Virtualbox.

Suppose I am having file named file1.txt with the content as 1,2,3.. upto 100 linewise.

$> head -n 5 file1.txt //will display first 5 lines i.e. 1,2,3,4,5
$> tail -n 5 file1.txt // will display last 5 lines i.e. 96,97,98,99,100

I want to display the content as first 5 lines and last 5 lines together in 1 command,

$> head tail -n 5 file1.txt // Something like this 1,2,3,4,5   96,97,98,99,100 (both together)

how can I achieve this ?

I am trying to compile the latest kernel linux-5.12 on my ubuntu 20.04.1. I have installed the necessary dependencies sudo apt install build-essential rsync gcc bc bison libssl-dev libncurses5-dev libelf-dev and copied the config file cp /boot/config - $(uname -r) ./.config to my location.

On executing this command make deb-pkg , I am getting the following error and even I tried online solutions nothing worked for me. Pl help me to solve this.

I was trying to install wordpress on ubuntu using the link and struck at https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/install-and-configure-wordpress#4-configure-database

When I run this command,I get the error-

GRANT SELECT,INSERT,UPDATE,DELETE,CREATE,DROP,ALTER

ERROR 1064 (42000): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'IDENTIFIED BY 'root'' at line 1

I tried almost every syntax by changing the wordpress@localhost to 'wordpress'@'localhost'

I tried removing and adding the APOSTROPHE on 'root' in IDENTIFIED BY 'root',

then after searching I tried this command as well - GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'wordpress'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'root' and got

Error - ERROR 1410 (42000): You are not allowed to create a user with GRANT

Nothing found working for me. Please help where am doing mistake. Thanks

I wrongly increased the heap size of my android studio, and when i start android studio , i am getting this error

Invalid maximum heap size: -Xmx4096m # <------ increase this to most of your RAM
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

I know this is something related to Java heap memory, i have reinstalled the Android studio, but getting the same error.

Please tell me where can i change the heap size of Java ?? i am using ubuntu18

I have running Ubuntu distro 16.04 LTS and tried to upgrade to 18.04 LTS, it got strucked at the following

I have not tried any solution which may damage the upgrades.

How to resolve it ?? Do i need to download or reinstall everything ?

I followed this Ask Ubuntu guide, I manually downloaded virtual box from this link and tried to install like:

I got the Oracle Virtual box icon in applications, when i click, it does not open, so geny motion does not recognize any virtual box, so it could not start as well.

Please help me. I have already used

I don't know what happened to my Ubuntu Desktop 15.04. When I start Ubuntu, I am getting this error every time. When I try to update ubuntu, it does not get updated. Please help me to resolve this issue.. I love Ubuntu very much but i am not an expert..

I am having one more problem in my ubuntu, whenever i try to shutdown ubuntu, shutdown process seems to be started, After 4 dots, system gets hanged and forcefully i keep press power to switchoff my system. I am able to restart and Logout properly, this is since my first installation of the ubuntu

I have just downloaded the Android Studio and when I try to run ./studio.sh it gives me an error of

'tools.jar' seems to be not in Android Studio classpath. Please ensure JAVA_HOME points to JDK rather than JRE

I have checked /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.7.0-openjdk-amd64 this folder java is there and I have set the environment variables in

/etc/environment

as

JAVA_HOME="/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.7.0-openjdk-amd64/"

but still, the same error is coming, Please help me out,

after saving this file, if I check

echo $JAVA_HOME

nothing comes and when I try

source /etc/environment

it comes as

JAVA_HOME: command not found

How should I proceed?

I know this question has been answered several times, I have tried each of them but still could not find the exact solution. I am starting to learn GTK + 3.0 with Glade User Interface. i know Glade will generate XML for the design and the same XML can be used in our c/cpp program. But to execute the program, one must have all the libraries installed or path must be set to the libraries in IDE's. I am using Anjuta IDE for developing this program whenever i tried to build the program I get the following error.

Whenever I try to add Lib or External Lib, I am not able to add gtk/gtk.h file, The same file is already there in /usr/include/gtk-3.0/gtk/gtk.h and when I try to copy the same in libanjuta the same code still giving the same error, Any help will be highly appreciated friends, I am struggling lot to execute the program ..
