I am trying to install system-config-kickstart on my Ubuntu 20.04 Desktop amd64. But the package is not found. How should I install system-config-kickstart on Ubuntu 20.04?

I have enabled main, universe, restricted and multiverse repositories and run apt update before trying to install it. Also tried installation from apt-get install system-config-kickstart.

Tried searching for the package through apt-cache search and apt search but no results.

Below is the output I get when I tried installing.

I have a ubuntu server at remote site to whom I access via SSH user@ip-address. IP is assigned from a DHCP server of remote site (for which I don't have access). After few reboots, the server's IP gets released and it gets new IP address. I then have to call someone at remote site to go and check the server's new IP so I can SSH.

Is there a way that I can SSH the machine via hostname (or any other configuration) without completely relying on the IP?

I am trying to install libvirt 1.2.7 from sources on Ubuntu 12.04 (64bit) LTS. In order to compile libvirt, libdevmapper-dev is required. I a getting following error while installing libdevmapper-dev

I have also tried installation with aptitude but it asks for removal several other necessary libraries e.g. liblvm2cmd2.02. Moreover I can not afford to upgrade system to later ubuntu versions.

How can I resolve this dependency?

is there a way to find out the PCI bus number of an Ethernet interface or vice versa. I am looking to write a Bash/Python script which gives some thing like

pci_address = some_function(eth0)

where pci_address is sys:bus:slot:function. How can these two elements be related to each other?

I am getting error installing mysql on ubuntu desktop 14.04 ( 64-bit)

I used following command

sudo apt-get install mysql-server

It asked me for password (and verification) and ended on following errors

Setting up mysql-server-5.5 (5.5.38-0ubuntu0.14.04.1) ...
initctl: Unknown job: mysql

Any suggestions would be helpful

How to uninstall virsh from Ubuntu 13.10 server. I have already removed libvirt-bin, qemu and kvm but virsh is still running. I used following command to remove libvirt-bin.

apt-get remove --purge libvirt-bin kvm qemu qemu-system-x86
apt-get autoremove
reboot

also tried

apt-get remove virsh 

but didn't work

I am trying to convert vmdk image to raw format but I am getting an error statement.

qemu-img convert -f vmdk Ubuntu-12.04-LTS-Jeos-1.0-disk1.vmdk -O raw myImage.raw

and I am getting following error.

qemu-img: error while reading sector 327680: Invalid argument

However it creates myImage.raw image with 0 disk size. I have googled it but couldn't find any solution. I am using qemu-img version 1.0 on Ubuntu 12.04 64bit. Any suggestions would be helpful
