I just tried to install the Google Cloud SDK on my Ubuntu 19.04 following these instructions.

Specifically I did:

# Create environment variable for correct distribution
CLOUD_SDK_REPO="cloud-sdk-$(grep VERSION_CODENAME /etc/os-release | cut -d '=' -f 2)"

# Add the Cloud SDK distribution URI as a package source
echo "deb http://packages.cloud.google.com/apt $CLOUD_SDK_REPO main" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-cloud-sdk.list

# Import the Google Cloud Platform public key
curl https://packages.cloud.google.com/apt/doc/apt-key.gpg | sudo apt-key add -

# Update the package list and install the Cloud SDK
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install google-cloud-sdk

And then run gcloud init and followed the process there.

When I now do gcloud components update I get the following error:

ERROR: (gcloud.components.update) 
You cannot perform this action because the Cloud SDK component manager 
is disabled for this installation.

Any ideas on how this can be fixed?

I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 15.04 with Gnome 3.16, which is working really great on my machine (despite what I found on many forums around the web). Having a high DPI screen however (13.3" with 1920x1080) I need to scale the entire system to use it. There is a setting for that in the TweakTool, but it only seems to accept integers as scaling factor.

Does anybody know about a workaround for this? Scaling by two is way too large for my screen. The value I want is closer to 1.2

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

When executing this command 

sudo apt-get install postgresql-9.4-postgis2.1 pgadmin3

to install PostgreSQL with PostGIS I get the following error:

postgresql-9.4-postgis-2.1 : Depends: libgdal1 (>= 1.9.0) but it is not going to be installed

The only solutions I could find online are related to Ubuntu 12 and are outdated, but maybe here knows how to fix this?

I am trying to install Postgresql on my brand new Ubuntu 15.04 installation and run into this error:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libpq-dev : Depends: libpq5 (= 9.4.1-1.pgdg12.4+1) but 9.4.1-1.pgdg14.04+1 is to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Here are the steps I normally do to install PostgreSQL:

sudo sh -c "echo 'deb http://apt.postgresql.org/pub/repos/apt/ precise-pgdg main' > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pgdg.list"
wget --quiet -O - http://apt.postgresql.org/pub/repos/apt/ACCC4CF8.asc | sudo apt-key add -
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install postgresql-common
sudo apt-get install postgresql-9.4-postgis-2.1 pgadmin3

This works fine on my 14.04 LTS release. Any ideas how this can be fixed?

Some time ago I created a VPN connection using Ubuntus own Network Manager, which worked fine! Now, a few months later, I want to go in and edit the connections details, but instead I get this error: unable to load VPN connection editor.

Any idea how this could be solved?

[UPDATE] Starting the connection manager manually with nm-connection-editor lets you edit the settings, but that still leaves the original error.

I just upgraded to GNOME 3.12 (running Ubuntu GNOME 14.04 LTS) and I love the Music Player that comes with it. The problem I have, is that my music is located on a NAS, so its not in the default directory that the player expects it to be. I have looked through all options within the player, but I had no luck defining a custom location for my music.

Does anybody know how to adjust those settings?

I recently installed Tmux and became really glad for it. All of a sudden I though it would start throwing an error when I try to create a new session from within my terminal:

tmux new -s my-session

will cause the application to crash and only return 

[exited]

and put the following on the next command line: 

62;9;c

Being new to Tmux I have no idea how to fix this issue. Does anybody recognize this error and knows how to fix it?
