I always use "Create Partition Table" function in GParted if I want to wipe USB drive content, for example to restore from bootable USB to normal storage— the reason I do this because it significantly faster to do this as opposed to normal formatting.
Normal formatting (right click drive and select Format to..) of partition takes 10-20 minutes in my 32GB usb drive, while "Create Partition Table" only takes 5 seconds. Why the big time difference?
I just created a script to output htop automatically every n minutes using this method → https://askubuntu.com/a/726661/253251, I put the script on crontab so it can be executed daily. But the output produced by cron was incomplete.
However, if I execute the command manually, there will be no truncated text.
Is there any settings that I can tweak to achieve full output in cron?
I have already tried Waltinator suggestion, it doesn't work and it stretch the output so long which is not what I want.

But upon playing game in Wine— it is barely playable, in Windows they DO ran smoothly, and I can confirm Windows actually uses the GPU. I suspected Wine uses my integrated Intel graphics instead.
How would I check that in Wine ? Is there any easy way to figure it out?
After several trial & error, I installed another image viewer on my remote machine (feh), setting in up— and tried the command once again.

I think this is the problem that caused ImageMagick's display to burst out error.
display: no decode delegate for this image format `' @ error/constitute.c/ReadImage/501.
According to https://superuser.com/a/1517417/1106777, the command failed because I started display as a background job (&).
If the process is started with
&then the shell will actually redirect its stdin from/dev/nullto avoid any read attempts.
If I removed the trailing &, the command will ran without any problem, take an example of:

How to send stdin to background & job ?
I have set up a password-less setup for ssh that uses public key authentication to connect with desired remote server, everything has been working quite well.
I'm using passphrase to unlock the private key, using this solution— the problem is it asks password everytime I start my system.
I found this to be troublesome, I want to enter it only once and for all so the next time I boot up the session I won't have to enter it again, is there something like cached key that holds up my passphrase and works across session (also survive a reboot) ?
Would it be possible to achieve all of this whilst keeping my ssh passphrase intact ?

This maybe a stupid question, with easy fix. But I searching around to no avail.
I'm unable to change docky configuration, I tried opening the docky setting on the dock, but the option to make it hide was grayed out.
How would I modify the option ? Or is the Docky project really dead, before Docky I'm using Plank but it doesn't have animation. If Plank has animation, I would stay with that.
FYI: I install it with sudo apt install docky
While I working on some pdf file, I've found the window button (Maximize, Minimize, Close) has a bad position, they're in line with pdf tools button.
This seems had to do with the fact that I used Lubuntu, in which Lubuntu uses Openbox window manager, whereas Evince uses GTK (CMIIW). I try installed Okular, and it seemed to do fine without problem.
How do I make it look like this—if possible?
I'm not quite sure what just happened, all I did was running:
~/Desktop$ mv sublime.desktop \~/.local/share/applications/
The \ sign before ~/.local came up as autocomplete, so I thought it was okay to run it.
But instead of moving the desktop file to /.local/share/applications/ (which was my intention), the command created new folder on Desktop. (The ~ was folder)

When I tried to remove ~:
~/Desktop$ rmdir ~
rmdir: failed to remove ‘/home/liso’: Permission denied
So what am I missing actually ?

Flux is nice application for those working on night time, it gives you warm color temperature on night time. I've been happily enjoying using it, link for anyone interested.
Color temperature changes on Flux started on 6PM, but rather than letting Flux modify my computer display I'd prefer turn the lights on.
This behavior makes me have to close the Flux manually, which is inconvenience.
Is there any way to make Flux only:
I once messed up with rfkill command, which cause my bluetooth applet to disappear. Re-enable from system setting doesn't seem to work, it will stay disappear.
This question is similar to Bluetooth indicator disappears on turning off bluetooth, but this workaround appear to be worked for 13.04 user only.

At first i didn't have antivirus on my Ubuntu 14.04, but a day later my friend sent a email about the antivirus that works on Ubuntu. "Avast" He say, therefore I immediately installed it.
After seeing the results, I was not so happy. I thinks was not as good in Windows. I decided to remove it, but i dont know how?
How to remove it ?

I have a problem with Nautilus that Nautilus window border is disappearing.
As you can see, there's no window border. What can i do to get it back ?

In Cinnamon, the Dropbox indicator does not have a dropdown menu like in Unity. If possible, how can one be made to display?

Youtube is my 3nd favorite web after Google and AskUbuntu, everyday i always watch new video from Youtube, but I do not like about YouTube is video buffering, so annoying to wait it. Now my question is there ways/program to install YouTube Videos quickly and user friendly ?

My computer is overheating because I got too many desktop environments installed like: MATE, Cinnamon and XFCE. I uninstalled them, but XFCE failed to uninstall. I get this error.
