I have a Box.com folder connected to my system using davfs2, and it takes a long time moving between folders everytime I use it with nautilus. I mount it to a local folder and everytime I click on a folder or a file, it takes a while to run, and sometimes it crashes nautilus.
Is there a way to download the whole directory as soon as the folder is mounted?
So I have Ubuntu 14.04 in my laptop installed with a dual boot of Windows 7. One day I used Windows and installed some big programs (Maya and Unity), the next day after starting the computer, the BIOS screen showed up as usual, but then it said "GRUB Loading..." and then the computer restarted. I can start BIOS, so I can change the boot order if needed, but I can't enter either Windows or Ubuntu.
My guess is I have to fix GRUB, as it seems most of the problems with dual boot come from a damaged GRUB, but I'm not sure if it has any other problem with the files in Windows and Ubuntu.

So after a year of taking out Windows 8 and turned my laptop into Ubuntu-only, I need to make a Windows partition on it. For some reason, my Ubuntu LiveCD is not working, so I can't use Gparted right now for resizing my Ubuntu partition.
What are other options I have for reducing the size of Ubuntu partition? If I remember well, Windows 7 installer doesn't have a partition manager, so I guess I can't use that.
I decided to start java programming on Linux instead of Windows, but I can only open my projects in the NetBeans IDE. When I make the distribution into a .jar file, I can't open them. I already gave it the permission to be an executable file, but when I select Open JDK jre (either 6 or 7), it just stays there. It doesn't do anything and I don't see why it happens. Any help on what to do to proceed?
PS: The program I'm trying to open has a GUI and when I run it in NetBeans it directly loads into the GUI, instead of doing something at the console
