My laptop is an Acer predator.

When it goes to sleep mode, sometimes it does not wake up from sleep. By that, I mean the keyboard backlight comes on and the laptop's power light goes on as well and it looks like the laptop wakes up from sleep. But only screen is black so I can't see anything then I will be forced to hold down the power button for 5 secs..

It happens 1 out of 4 times when laptop goes to sleep. Could someone please help?

Recently I noticed my laptop freezes and I can't do anything unless I force reboot it with power button. This time I saw my memory usage increasing on indicator panel.

So I had a look at system monitor and I saw a couple or omni.ja processes each one taking about 900mb now i see why it keeps freezing.

I did a search and found out it's related to Firefox browser But I did not find any fix for it.

Are there any solution for this this?

I tried to look at log ( had to look it up how ) and for example one of the warnings is this....

Can someone please help me get rid of these or tell me whats wrong?

I am on ubunty 18.04 btw

How are you? I have Ubuntu 18 , I remember i changed somethign to gdm or gdx somethign like that to help battery saving fo rmy laptop. After that My screen wont turn off after x min, no matter what i change it to, even 1 min ro 10 mins Screen stays always on. Any fix for that? Thank you so much :)

Recently whenever I open Firefox I get a message in notification center. It's not always the same and it keeps changing. here is an example:

It's not always this. It gives other messages too and when I click it it sends me to phishing sites. I don't know how I got it.

Could someone please help me get rid of it?
I tried Clam antivirus but it found nothing.

I'm sorry if it's been asked before but I could not find it here. I did the last install updates for Ubuntu 14.04 like always. and when it failed to start the Vbox and genymotion i usually ran the command $ sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup and it would solve the problem but this time it doesn't work at all and I'm getting the following errors...

I am on ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bits I was trying to Install an older stand alone version of flash player so i searched forums and someone suggested i ran this command..

~$ sudo apt-get install libgtk2.0-0:i386 libnss3-1d:i386 libnspr4-0d:i386 lib32nss-mdns libxml2:i386 libxslt1.1:i386

Then i searched elsewhere and i relaized that 32 bit libs are no good for 64 bits system so what i did was to run this command ...

~$ sudo apt-get remove libgtk2.0-0:i386 libnss3-1d:i386 libnspr4-0d:i386 lib32nss-mdns libxml2:i386 libxslt1.1:i386

Sad thing is after i done that not only i lost my Skype but my wine is gone too and now that i'm trying to install wine from software centre after i click on install first software centre gets unresponding and so slow and a a message pops up saying downloading packages from nontrusted sources and such... However i somehow fixed that but now some of my apps are misbeaving. My question is how do i restore my system to what it was before i added those lib files? Thank you
