I am using kdenlive 19.04 and it is working like a charm.
Because of a framing error on my part, I need to crop a part of the image. I am doing so using the "Crop, Scale and Tilt" effect (defining the value of "Cropt left" to be a n pixels).
This solves the problem, but the cropped area is simply made black.
Is there a way for me to make this area be a different color (so that it is closer to the background of my video)?
I want to bind a different action (for example, using xbindkeys) to the simultaneous clicking of my left and right mouse buttons than I get by clicking the middle button. Is this possible?
I have disabled middle button emulation using xinput:
xinput set-prop '15' 'libinput Middle Emulation Enabled' 0
(where 15 is the device ID for my mouse)
but xbindkeys does not seem to support actions comprised of two button clicks. For example,
"xte 'key a'"
b:1+b:3
inserts an a even if I just click the right mouse button (button 3 according to xev).
The closest I have come to an answer is this 2016 post, but based on the current (Ubuntu 18.04LTS) man page for xorg.conf the patch does not seem to have ever been merged into xorg.
I have read about using xmodmap to set button mappings, but I haven't found any reference to it allow the definition of a new button code being triggered by simultaneously pressing two buttons.
How can I get this to work?
Using a dual monitor setup on Ubuntu 18.04, how can I invert colors on just one screen? I have been using xrandr-invert-colors and when I run it all monitors get their colors inverted.

Edit: xcalib -i -a also inverts the colors on both monitors.
For years, using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS,
xcalib -i -a
would invert the colors of just one monitor on my dual monitor Xorg setup. For that reason, I used both xcalib as well as xrandr-invert-colors, which successfully inverted colors on both screens. This worked great.
Now I have upgraded to Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and suddenly both xcalib as well as xrandr-invert-colors invert the colors on both my monitors.
Question: How can I use either of these tools to invert the colors on just one of my monitors as I have been doing for years?

Where can I configure which binaries update-initramfs copies into the /sbin directory inside the initrd image?
I have been looking under /etc/initramfs-tools and /usr/lib/initramfs-tools but couldn't find the list of binaries anywhere

I just installed on Ubuntu 14.04.3 on my laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad X230). Everything works fine except:
while the computer is on does nothing, even though I have the settings (under System Settings => Power) that both should trigger hibernation. (Hibernation works fine when I pick it from the menu; also, nothing happens if I set the power button/close lid actions to suspend/shutdown, either.)
Using a script that prints out the value of
/proc/acpi/button/lid/LID/state
every second and then closing and reopening the lid shows that the event is not detected at all. I have kernel 3.16.0-38-generic installed.
How can I fix this?
