On one installation of 20.04, snap refresh caused the snap-store snap to be updated, which made the orange "Ubuntu Software" icon disappear, and in its place is the "Snap Store" with a different icon. Same thing happened on another installation when updating "Snap Store" through the store itself.
How can I restore the original orange icon and "Ubuntu Software" label?
I tend to obsessively want to upgrade everything I can, so I run the Software Updater GUI tool and also sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade and blindly install everything. It seems the command line often has packages to update when the GUI doesn't. I'm running 20.04.
Is my practice safe or do I stand a chance of breaking something? What's the recommended way of keeping everything as up to date as possible without breaking things?
I need to blacklist semi-useless wifi driver included with 14.04.2 and load stable one per these instructions:
in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf:
blacklist ideapad_laptop
blacklist rtl8723au
blacklist rtl8723ae
and then
sudo update-initramfs -u
reboot. Wifi still semi working and can't modprobe new driver (resource busy).

I have this bug: gvfsd-afp-browse. I have Ubuntu 14.04 and bug is not fixed in this, or in 14.10. Last post in bug report indicates it is possible to manually patch. How would I go about doing so?
