What are the step to build this driver on kernel 5.3.0-46-generic ?
Running the make command on the new kernel give me an error on timer structure on the kernel source code (there has been some change) and I can't go on with this.
So how can I build this on the current kernel ?
Many sites say to install gnome 3.34 on Ubuntu 18.04 you have to just install snap (if you not have it yet) and then type
$ sudo snap install gnome-3-34-1804
I installed it with the command above and then reboot my pc, but once i logged in on Ubuntu nothing has changed and the gnome-shell versione is the same as before:
$ gnome-shell --version
GNOME Shell 3.28.4
How can I enable or install it in the correct manner ?
As many of us know, wpa_supplicant has a bug that afflicts the wpa-enterprise (PEAP - MSCHAPv2) to disconnect frequently.
In my experience the wifi went down and retried to reconnect randomly making me very crazy because I couldn't go online ! I didn't find out if it depend of the wifi driver (I have a ALFA AWUS 1900 with a rtl8814au chipset) or directly from the wpa_supplicant bug.
Anyway, I tried many distro like debian, fedora and so on... But in the last days I tried Ubuntu 14.04.6 on VirtualBox linked directly the usb wifi adapter, and after installed the driver and set up the network I saw the network worked very well without the frequent disconnections. So today I installed the wpa_supplicant package version from Ubuntu trusty (14.04) on my Ubuntu 18.04 and it seems it works as expected. So I need your help to confirm my suppositions and maybe bring the all community to fix that strange behavior.
As the title above, does anyone know what DORMANT mean in this output command ?

The network works fine with this mode as well.
My wireless adapter (AWUS1900 with this driver https://github.com/aircrack-ng/rtl8812au.git) still disconnects and reconnects and after a bit, it disconnects and can't reconnect to the network; I have to reboot the system. It make me crazy !

What is it mean ? Is it related to my problem ? How can I fix it ?
Another strange thing is that every command to modify the wireless behavior doesn't seem to work. For example if I type:
iw dev wlan0 get power_save
it return on so I set it to off
sudo iw dev wlan0 set power_save off
and it works for a while and then it back to the previous status (power_save on). I also set the usb suspensions to -1 on the kernel boot to not suspend the usb and make the wireless stop working.
But if I put my phone in hotspot mode (close to my wireless) my pc goes online instantly.

My pc is Ryzen 7 2700 + Nvidia GTX 1050ti + 16GB Ram.
I want to mount automatically, at startup, a veracrypt partition. But the problem is that I can't mount it by the command line, 'cause, when I type this command:
# veracrypt -t --non-interactive -p some-password /dev/sdaX /media/veracrypt1/
I get the fallowing output:

and I have to put the password again, but this time, it mounts the partition.
So I need to mount it from the command line so I can set a script to mount it automatically at startup.
I installed Ubuntu 18.10 on my new surface pro 2017. To not change anythings on the internal storage, I put Linux on the Samsung micro SD card of 128GB class 10 U3, and to prevent any data leak, I encrypted the whole card. Then I installed the surface kernel 4.18.20 and almost all stuff work great except the cameras (but it doesn't matter). The only issue that I noticed is that Linux often seems to freeze for a bit.
I think it depends on the storage speed obviously.
But if I install Ubuntu still on the micro SD card without encrypting it, can I solve the problem ?
In that case, it makes sense to encrypt only the home partition ?
I run ubuntu with Gnome-shell as desktop and I have a laggy desktop. So I would like to make a smooth desktop like in that video. The user runs archlinux with a modded versione of mutter.
In that question I mean that the user interface (gnome-shell) animations run laggy.
My config: AMD Athlon x4 860k - nVidia GTX 1050 ti 4GB - 16 GB RAM DDR3
I should not have issues with performance.
Has anyone a good solution to fix that issue ?

I bought a rtl8811au chipest based usb wifi for my work stationd that supports dual band. But when I plugged in the usb my ubuntu doesn't recognized it. So I had to find the driver and compiled it 'cause the one inside the usb package was not compatible with the last kernel version.
My experience with some drivers get from github platform was unsatisfied.
All the drivers I tested are an issue in my user experience. It seems that, with these drivers, my wifi usb stops working randomly, specially when the browser is open and it loads some javascript.
In that context the ping command works normally and all the other connections such as p2p like torrent, or app like telegram.
When that issue shows up, I have some options:
With all these options I have to wait and it is so heartbreaking !
So I think that the problem is relative to the driver 'cause I get it from github and it can contain some error.

Do you know some driver that works properly ?
I'm working with bluetooth keyboad on ubuntu bionic. The problem is that the keyboard at random time disconnect and reconnect itself and I have to wait it to reconnect to allow me to type. I don't know if it is a problem of power management but seems that ubuntu recreate a new devices at every reconnection.

I bought the rtl8811au usb wifi adapter for my workstation. Installing the driver that come with the usb adapter fails on linux so I installed that driver:

and it works. But I noticed that some time, or frequently, it seems to go to sleep for a while and then it works again. And another issue is that ti seems to not work with some javascript, in fact in some web page, it cannot load the javascript controls.
So, how can I fix that behavior ? It depends on driver version I installed ?
EDIT: I ran wireless-info script and here there is my log:
I tried to update my grub config file to timeout to 0 value, so OS starts quickly. I modified /etc/default/grub configuration file on my Ubuntu 18.04 and then ran:
sudo update-grub
and it didn't work. I also ran:
sudo grub-mkconfig
sudo update-grub
but they didn't work.
I searched a lot on the web to solve this issue, but all guides say to run the update-grub command to update grub by /etc/default/grub config file.
I don't know if is Ubuntu 18.04 that handles grub files in a different way, but I cannot update my grub with my parameters.
