I would like to get the height of the window title bar, for example of my browser or nautilus in pixel.
I am referring to the "dark part" in the screenshot, so the strip that holds the min,max,close buttons.
Where is this info stored and can I grep for it?

It is not shown in the list of devices.
I would like to search for files in the same way im opening applications (opening via the 'windows'-/ super-button).
Actually, there is already an entry that shows some files, listed in an extra menu called 'Files'.
But not all. I don't know which criteria files need to meet in order to show up there.
Is there a way to install OpenJDK 10 on Ubuntu 19.04? Is there maybe a ppa available for that?
Since 19.04, there is only OpenJDK11 and 12 available.

I installed some PPAs. Now, when I run apt update some of them seem to be gone.

I messed up with the thumbnails folder, now those thumbnail pictures are all over the place.
How can I find all of the thumbnail pictures and delete them? Do they have a specific size? Or naming pattern?
I like to extract archives and delete them afterwards.
Now, when I select one or more archives and "right-click -> extract here", after successful extraction, the extracted folder(s) is automatically selected.
That is very annoying, since i would like to keep my selection of archive files so I can delete them immediately after the extraction. Now, I have to select those archives again to delete them. If there are multiple archives in the current folder, it is difficult to find the ones that just have been extracted. How can I disable that feature?
When debugging UI programs, I see frequently the "Wait or force quit" Dialog.
This is super annoying, since this dialog blocks basically everything. The whole graphical system is not usable anymore until I select one of the options.
I would like to disable this completely or at least have an option to ignore this window.

Workarounds described here do not work. I assume that this is because they address problems with alsa, which has been replaced by pulseaudio.

I have multiple instances of an app open, e.g. of Terminal. Indicated by the orange dots next to the icon.
Can I configure a shortcut to restore/ show all of those windows with a single click/ command, e.g. double click on the launcher?
I would like my Dock to show only the windows of the current workspace. Especially in the little preview window. I find it very confusing to jump around workspaces when trying to find the right window.
I have some NFS4 shares mounted via autofs.
E.g. /mnt/autofs/MyPictures
When I navigate in this directory, e.g., going to /mnt/autofs/MyPictures/2017-01/partyWithHugh, after some time, Nautilus shows again the root folder (/mnt/autofs/MyPictures).
Why is that and how can I prevent this?

Answers posted to a previous question (How can I add custom '.desktop' application launchers to Ubuntu Dock?) don't work for me. I can find this launcher in Activities and I can double click on that file and IntelliJ will start. Nevertheless, I cannot add this launcher as a favorite to the dock. The option does not show up.
I'm trying to find a (very old) file, from which I'm sure it is somewhere on my NAS. Unfortunately I have some of my old files stored inside tar.gz, zip or 7z.
Is there any way to search all files and folders including the content of these archives?
Maybe find or locate can be instructed to consider these archives as well and take a look inside on their way down the directory tree?
