I'm using ubuntu 16.04 and I've 3 partitions
Suppose I open ~/home/vivek/Desktop and then go to Data1 partition, at that time there another icons in unity launcher for this partition.
Is there any way to make nautilus to not open in another window?
On my dell laptop, ethernet once disconnected cannot resume the connection again without restart.
This same problem is on Windows also, meaning definitely the problem is not with Ubuntu. But on Windows I used to disable the Ethernet and again enable the ethernet in control panel -> network....
Question :
How can I disable & enable the ethernet in Ubuntu?
I guess this way I may solve my problems and save time.
I'm trying to download youtube playlist in bestaudo+bestvideo quality. It downloaded the first video but for second video it throwing error ERROR: requested format not available.
QUESTION:
How to make youtube-dl to fetch the 2nd video in some other quality if the passed quality is not available?

In ubuntu 13.10 (Unity Desktop Environment) there are keyboard shortcut like ctrl + Super + Up to maximize the windows etc.
Is there any keyboard shortcuts for Always On Top ?
If not how can make my own custom shortcut for the same using the ubuntu system setting?
I'm using ubuntu 13.10 and nautilus (File) v 3.8.2 on Dell Inspiron 7535 which had comes with windows 8 pre installed. Dell had already created lots of partitions.
I want to make this partitions not to show in the nautilus?
What will be best way to hide this?
NOTE: As of now I want to mess up / delete that partitions as I have already a had a battle installing ubuntu on this machine.
While typing normal keys I have to press fn (function key) as it seems that the function key is pressed all the time.
What do I have to do to turn the function key off and it trigger it only when I press on it.

I am trying to change the file/directory permission. But it is not changing either through using command line or GUI.
This fil/dir is present in one of the partition in external harddisk which is in NTFS file format. Dees that make any difference?
Any help how could I modify the permissions in this case.
