Bind mouse to a concrete monitor in a dual screen setup with two independent pointers

Scenario is, bind my Wacom Bamboo to my second monitor and my mouse to the first monitor. The binding for Wacom Bamboo works perfect with the settings for the tablet. But how can I bind my mouse to the other monitor?

My current steps:

Bind the Wacom Bamboo to my second monitor

Configure two independent pointers

With plugged Wacom Bamboo and my mouse, xinput --list shows

I know there is a GUI in Ubuntu Software & Updates to enable the update channels

I am looking for an easy way to do this from within a terminal using commands such as

Thumbnail creation in Nautilus fails

I've tried to create a thumbnailer for Nautilus for PSD files with this configuration in

/usr/share/thumbnailers/psd.thumbnailer

And the following content:

imagemagick is installed and I have removed the cache via

rm -r ~/.cache/thumbnails

But when I start Nautilus via command line

I see this very frustrating message.

Very irritating, as the mime-type is correct

Ignore one partition of two of an USB stick via udev

Now I created a file /etc/udev/rules.d/100-myusb.rules

sudo nano /etc/udev/rules.d/100-myusb.rules

and added the rule below

and restarted udev

sudo service udev restart

But after plugging the stick again, both partitions are shown in Files aka Nautilus

macro keys for Razer BlackWidow Ultimate

I bought a new keyboard, a Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Elite. All keys will operate until the macro keys M1 to M5.

xev gives no output for this keys. Is there a way to use keys with Ubuntu?

Wrong icon after application startup

I have two Eclipse installations and for each of them a desktop file, see below.

For the icons, I'm using eclipse in both cases with an activated Numix Icon Theme.

If I search and start the applications via Activities, the icons are correct.

How can I change this behaviour, I want the Numix icons on the left hand side also.

As the title says: Why can I remove a file as user wich is owned by root?

Here is an example:

WLAN problem: (wlan0/wireless): association took too long, failing activation

I have a laptop with a

Intel Corporation Wireless 3160 (rev 83); Firmare version 25.17.12.0

I see the WLAN and I can enter my password. Despite repeated entry of the password and visual inspection of the password, no connection is established.

There is no MAC filtering on the router and all (new) devices are allowed.

I have installed the firmware from Linux Wireless, before I tested the network with the firmware of the Ubuntu installation.

How can I solve the problem?

I have Ubuntu 15.04 and GNOME 3.16 installed.

This PPAs are enabled:

Interestingly, GDM runs in TTY1 and TTY7. Is there a way to fix this? I would like that GDM runs only in TTY7.
