In previous versions (with unity) I could do Shift+PrtScr and copy the partial screenshot into clipboard without saving to file first.
Is there a way to enable a similar functionality in 17.10?
Also, can I make it ask for saving location instead of saving always into ~/pictures?
In 17.04 I could suspend\hibernate from the power off menu button.
I can't find how to do this in Ubuntu 17.10 GNOME Shell.
Just moved from Unity to GNOME Shell with the update to Ubuntu 17.10. In Unity I could maximize apps by placing my cursor on the app in the taskbar and scrolling.
In GNOME this doesn't work. Is there a way to enable it?
Every time I log in, I need to go to disks and mount all my partitions manually.
How can I make it automatic?
Can't start from GUI. It just won't start, no error message or anything.
When I try from terminal I get:

EDIT: Just noticed Dropbox won't start neither.
I tried some commands like iw list and iwconfig but couldn't see the supported wifi version (b/g/n/ac).
The trash seems to be empty, but the partition's trash folder (.Trash-1000) shows the deleted files and they keep taking up space. Is this a bug in the new version (16.10) released today? Everything was working fine a few hours ago before upgrading to the new 16.10 edition.
I'm using dual boot of windows 10 and Ubuntu 16.04.
Inspecting the partitions I have I noticed there are too many of them and I would like to understand what each one of them is for.
Obviously, the first one is the boot partition. It's currently 500MB. Isn't it too much for boot files? (I'm using 240GB ssd drive and every MB counts)
About the next 3 partitions, I'm not sure what they are for. After that comes the Windows partition, then another unidentified one. The next ones are:

I encountered a strange problem\bug with VLC in Ubuntu 16.04.
I use the G700 mouse of Logitech (that can be used as either wireless or wired mouse).
When I start VLC (version 2.2.2) with the mouse connected and then I unplug the mouse (to use it as wireless), the cursor won't appear anymore in VLC (even when I move the mouse). I have to close and reopen VLC while the mouse is in wireless mode to solve this. Very annoying.
Anyone else encountered this? (I use xps 13 9343)
I recently updated Ubuntu from 15.10 to 16.04 and right after, I started noticing tears in viewing webpages in chromium (and nowhere else).
I tried googling the problem but couldn't find anything.
The problem stays even after rebooting.

How can I change the name of my PC that the router sees when I'm connected (in attached devices)? (Without changing username)
Edit (clarification): Currently, when I connect my laptop wirelessly to a router, it's possible to see my computer's name (an thus my own name, since it's <myname>-XPS-13-9343) via the attached devices screen in the router configuration panel. I want to change the way that my computer is seen to the outside world (for shake of privacy).
I use Ububtu 15.04 with Unity interface.
While I was editing a file's name, I accidentally selected the entire name (without the extension) and pressed ctrl+x and Enter. The file disappeared.
Where did it go?
I use Ubuntu 15.04, and today, the "P" letter disappeared from most of ubuntu related GUI interfaces. I noticed it still appears in webpages though.
What could have caused this? How to fix this?
