I've been trying to install Cuda 10.0 and tensrflow 2.0 in Ubuntu 19.10 (the same goes for the previous versions of Ubuntu), but there is no use. It says that the package 418 (althouh I ask explicitly for 410) is not configured and the insalling crashes. I also tried to purge the 418 version and reinstall it, but it doesn't work either.

I already tried several resouces such this and this one but no success. Any idea on how to solve this?

Just installed the UBUNTU 16.04 LTS. I just noticed that the software center is not working. I did installed the older version of it (sudo apt-get install software-center) but I want the new software center.

How can I install the new version of the software center?

I am having some troubles while trying to run Matlab R2013 on Ubuntu 15.04 (the same problem happens in 14.04 and 12.04 versions). When I try to run in from the terminal or using the Matlab icon, I get the following error message:

Error while trying to run Matlab R2013a.

BUT if I run it as super user, it works fine, but I get several other problems with that, for example, the applications that I developed in Matlab don't run.

What can I do in order to run Matlab as a regular user?

I just updated my Ubuntu from 12.04 version to 15.04 (clean update, i.e., I erased my old Ubuntu 12.04 and installed the new one). I have Matlab R2013a installed in it and it used to work really fine, but now, all of a sudden, it freezes every time I try to plot anything. For example:

x = linspace(0, 10, 100); y = x;
[x, y] = meshgrid(x, y);
zx = x.^2 + y;
zy = x.*y;
quiver(x, y, zx, zy)

It freezes in such a way that I don't have access to any function. I can't use Ctrl + Alt + F2 or Ctrl + Alt + Del. The only thing that works is Alt + SysReq + REISUB, which reboots my computer.

In order to execute Matlab I have to run the command as super user in the terminal:

sudo /usr/local/MATLAB/R2013a/bin/matlab

If I don't use sudo, I get the following error message:

Error trying to start MATLAB without using sudo.

What can I do to solve this problem?

I am trying to change the C++ compiler version. I have both, 4.6.x AND 4.4 versions, I want to set it to the 4.4 version, so I am doing:

export "CXX=g++-4.4"

But when I run the command:

g++ -v

I am still getting this:

gcc version 4.6.3 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.3-1ubuntu5)

I am using Ubuntu 14.04.

I am trying to install CUDA 7.0 on Ubuntu 14.04.2. I already tried everything suggested here and here. I have also tried many other tutorials, which mostly, say the same things.

The main problems when I try to install CUDA are:

  1. I get stuck on the login screen and nothing that I do can solve it. Already tried, among many other "solutions", this one.
  2. If I manage to install CUDA properly, Ubuntu freezes randomly and I am forced to shut it down or reinstall Ubuntu;

Can somebody please help me? I already reinstalled Ubuntu more than 5 times...
