I have a question about Ubuntu MATE using the Mutiny Appearance configuration.
When I maximize my terminal or LibreOffice, it still leaves the title bar.
not merged into the TOP PANEL. How can I merge it? In the old Unity 7 Ubuntu 17.04, it used to merge into the top bar.
Can this be done with MATE?
Do you guys have any ideas or tips?
In Gnome2 and Unity, you could right click in List Mode and the "Paste" option appeared. How do you make it appear in the new Nautilus? (There is only "Paste into folder" now)
I need advice.
I have a webserver vm (LAN, not on the internet), it has 2 wikis:
I want to wget only the homework wiki pages, without crawling into the GameWiki?
My goal is to just get the .htmls (ignore all other files images etc), with wget. (I dont want to do a mysqldump or mediawiki export, but rather wget for my (non-IT) boss who just wants to double click the html).
How can I run wget to only crawl the HomeWorkWiki, and not the GameWiki on this VM.

So I have a old folder with lots of stuff. I think there are duplicate files here and there.
Is it worth it to do a squashfs backup first? Or should I just 7zip it?
Here is my backup trick method:
apt install -y squashfs-tools ;
cd /mnt/BackupDrive
mksquashfs /mnt/OldSourceDrive/ Backup-Deduped.squashfs
-keep-as-directory
I had a question. Im trying to backup and encrypt files, but using the more recent aes256 or aes512 encryption.
1) I heard 7z defaults to aes128, I want to use the best one (aes256... i think?), how do i do it?
Here is my command:
cd /mnt/MyBackupHardDrive ;
7z a MyFullComputerBackup-AES256.7z -t7z -m0=lzma2:d1024m -mx=9 -aoa -mfb=64 -md=32m -ms=on /home/MyHomeDirectory
2) Does this automatically encrypt the filenames too?

I want to use Ubuntu Servers (Physical Iron) as my Virtual Machine Hosts, what is the correct way to do this with Ubuntu? (In CentOS, you can use centos-xen), but wanted to know what Ubuntu reccomended?
I have the Ubuntu 17.04 Server ISO file, and my goal is to install a hypervisor on top of Ubuntu Server 17.04. (I am not looking for a GUI like Vmware or Virtualbox), sorry for the confusion :)
I usually shutdown my pc, and use a livecd to make a backup of /, and do:
tar cvfp**z** UbuntuComputerBackup.tar.gz --exclude=/proc --exclude=/sys --exclude=/dev /
I was thinking of now doing (xz compression instead):
tar cvfp**J** UbuntuComputerBackup.tar.**xz** --exclude=/proc --exclude=/sys --exclude=/dev /
Is this a good idea to now use xz compression? What are do you guys reccomend for full tarball barebones backup?

How do I make sure that my Webserver is only accessible from inside my LAN? I dont want nextcloud open to anything else except my verizon local router network at home. Do you guys know how to do this?

When I have virtualbox in full screen, on Unity it always locks after 5 minutes, but in Gnome3 (and even Unity7) it shows a popup message: lock was blocked by an application.
Can I force Unity or Gnome3 to always lock regardless of FULL-SCREENED applications?
