I have LibreOffice 6.2.2.2 installed as a Flatpak. Everything works fine but when I go to the menu Help -> LibreOffice Help I get the message:

LibreOffice Help Not Installed

How can I install the offline help for the Flatpak LibreOffice?

I managed to download the help package there: http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/6.2.2/deb/x86_64/LibreOffice_6.2.2_Linux_x86-64_deb_helppack_en-US.tar.gz (link found on the LibreOffice download page https://www.libreoffice.org/download).

The help package contains subfolders /opt/libreoffice6.2/help/en-US/ and /opt/libreoffice6.2/help/media/ with *.html help files and some other *.js files.

Is there a way one can use this package to install the offline help for the Flatpak LibreOffice installation?

PS: I'm aware that I need the help version for the corresponding LibreOffice version, and that the help language must match the LibreOffice UI language.

In the question What is “dist-upgrade” and why does it upgrade more than “upgrade”? the accepted answer explains that linux-headers-3.0.0-13 is a new package replacing linux-headers-3.0.0-12.

How is it a new package and not simply a new version, and how to know (recognize) the difference?

Further, why is linux-headers-3.0.0-13 listed in the output of the command sudo apt-get upgrade if it is a new package and not a new version of an already installed package?

The answer hints at the argument that it is because linux-headers-3.0.0-12 and linux-headers-3.0.0-13 are connected to the same virtual package ("linux-headers is a virtual package that is provided by both linux-headers-3.0.0-12 and linux-headers-3.0.0-13"). Is it for this reason that linux-headers-3.0.0-13 is listed? And if so, why don't we see other packages provided by other virtual packages suggested as upgrades?

EDIT:

Although the example above concerns kernel packages, my question is not kernel-oriented but more general; or is it of kernel-only relevance?

I am on Xubuntu 14.04. I don't understand the cause of the following warning message I get.

  1. When I check only the Universe repository, Software Updater tells me that my system is up to date.

  2. When I check the following repositories in Software Updater:

    • Main
    • Universe
    • Restricted

    I get a list of package to update. Up to now, everything is sound.

  3. Now, if I check only the following repositories:

    • Main
    • Restricted

    I get the message "Not all updates can be installed".

    If I click Continue, I get a list of packages to update but a number of them are unchecked and cannot be selected:

    • Complete Generic Linux kernel and headers
    • Generic Linux kernel headers
    • Generic Linux kernel image
    • GTK+ graphical user interface library
    • Programs for the GTK+ graphical user interface library

Can it be that these packages are in the Universe repository and that I get the warning because I did not check this repository? But then, how comes I am not offered to upgrade them when I check just Universe?

I did a sudo apt-get install -f and it says:

0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 44 not upgraded

How can I make sense of this behavior? I know I could just check all three repositories: Main, Restricted and Universe, and just proceed to update; but I would like to get a deeper understanding.

PS: I have 'Important security updates' and 'Recommended updates' checked and I did not check any of the Other Software repositories.
