We installed 14.04 that is connected to a fiber channel. I was expecting to wrestle with multipath to get the LUNs connected, but I noticed that I am mounted to the fiber channel right after install.
What process is doing this out of the box?

We have a fiber channel set up, and I'd like to connect to it (I'm on Ubuntu 12.04 btw).
I can see the wwpns that were delivered. But I don't quite know what to do from here. I can fdisk to the /dev drives, but once I try to create a filesystem on them via mkefs, I get an ioctl error.
Here is what I show:
systool -c fc_host -A "port_name" gives me
Class = "fc_host"
Class Device = "host5"
port_name = "0x21000024ff274080"

When I do an ls -ltra /dev/mapper, I see

ls /sys/class/fc_host gives me host5, host6, host7, and host8.

I can fdisk to /dev/sdd, and properly create a partition.
But when I try something like mke2fs -t ext4 -m 0 -O dir_index /dev/sdd1, it tells me "/dev/sdd1 is apparently in use by the system; will not make a filesystem here!"
Any clues?
i have Ubuntu 12.04, and i run unity 2D (so i can run all of my monitors with xinerama).
a problem that i have is when i hit alt+tab, it highlights the new [active] window with a white border. well, if the window i want is behind another window that has a lot of white (like a web browser that is opened to a page with a white background (i.e. 80% of the web)), i can't tell which window i've alt-tab'd to.
where can i change the color and thickness of the window when it has been highlighted via alt+tab? i'd like a nice, thick orange or red background.
is this a CCSM thing? or do i need to alter via the metacity files?
thanks in advance.
after searching I have not found a solution.
I have 2 nvidia quadro 295 cards with 3 monitors but I can not extend twinview across multiple GPUs.
I have the most recent nvidia proprietary drivers installed, and they work fine for the single GPU / dual monitors. I tried using xinerama, but without success.
I don't mind switching to the nouveau drivers if that would handle my multiple monitors, although I would like to continue to use unity and compiz if i can).
