I am installing an orthodontic PMS on Ubuntu 19.04. I can get as far as accepting the EULA and telling the installer to install for either everyone or just myself (roaming vs local), the error pops up either way. The installer allows me to start the installation, but this pops up every time.
I have installed Mono and the latest version of the .NET Framework from MS. I checked that the DLL is in the directory, and it's there. I even tried copying/pasting it into the installation folder on the off chance that that would work.
The installation ZIP came with both a .exe and a .msi, and the error pops up with both.
This program (Ortho2 EdgeCloud) is not on Wine's list, so there's limited assistance available on the Wine site. Am I missing a step?
I am running Windows 10 on an external HDD. I only use Windows for one program for work, otherwise, I use Ubuntu 19.04 (Dingo). Is there a way to move or copy this program from my Windows HDD into WINE?
This program was installed by the IT dept at my client's office, so I don't have access to the installation media. None of them know Ubuntu (or any other Linux distro), so it'll be easier if I don't have to involve them.
I want to be able to format the external HDD to use as just a drive instead of reserving it for just one program.
I am attempting to set up the fingerprint reader on my Asus VivoBook 15 (X512DA_F512DA). This question and this question touch on the subject, but haven't been answered, and aren't for Dingo and aren't for my particular comp.
I've installed fingerprint GUI according to this site and fprint according to this Unix/Linux question, but they don't recognize my device. There's no fingerprint option in the BIOS or UEFI.
Has anyone with this Asus laptop gotten their fingerprint reader to work in Dingo?

I installed this fix, but to no avail. Although the drivers are installed, I still don't have my multiple monitor functional on Ubuntu. It works fine on the Windows side, so I know it's not a hardware issue.

I currently have only my keyboard and external monitor plugged into the dock, but my Logitech mouse isn't, however the mouse and keybard are in Bus 002, and the monitor isn't recognized.

I am looking for an updated answer to this question and this question. After reading those two posts, I have no idea if any of the suggestions will apply to 18.04 because they're rather old. Also, while those posts request help for only certain buttons, I need help for all of the special buttons except Volume (Favorites, Calculator, navigation). The normal keys work (home, end, pgdn, pgup, number pad, etc.).

I am trying to install dual-boot Ubuntu 16.04 onto Win10 w/USB stick, but after selecting anything from the purple menu (Try w/o installing, install, etc.), the screen flashes, goes black and then nothing happens except the caps lock key starts blinking. I've used this same USB ISO to install Ubuntu several other times. I've tried both USB ports.
Does anyone know what could be causing this?

I am having trouble installing the free version of LogicalDoc, using the instructions in the text file and on their wiki. I've downloaded the .zip, but unzipping it is proving problematic. The unzip command returns an error:

I also tried unzipping it w/o using the terminal, but then the next instruction (Execute the command /Library/tomcat/bin/catalina.sh start to run LogicalDOC + Tomcat application server.) doesn't work either because no directory has been created. Also, following the .txt instructions doesn't work:

First, I have read all of the following, and they get close to helping, but I can't comment requesting more help because I don't have enough beans.
I have gone through the steps of installing the drivers from https://github.com/jurobystricky/Netgear-A6210, but nothing happens. Installed drivers for my adapter but its not working is the most helpful, but confusing. Could someone pick up where they left off in the last comments? They start talking about encryption, but I just need help getting the drivers to work. What info do you need? My brain hurts from trying to clarify and anticipate questions.

Any time I enter my pw into the terminal, it works fine. But gsku thinks it's wrong. I've tried several times, and typing very slowly. I know I'm entering it correctly. Any ideas?
Answers to questions:
I just did a clean install of Ubuntu 16 and didn't change anything in the partitions. Now I have 3 partitions, and I don't know which partition is what. I ask so that I can increase/add a swap,and create the recommended partitions from the answer at Ubuntu 16.04 partition help (/opt, /root, /home).
