I want to change the length of my screencast recorded with the GNOME 3 Screen Recorder from the default 30 seconds to 30 minutes. How do I do that?
On my dell XPS 13, 9360 model, there is a HiDPI display, the resolution is 3200x1800 which is fantastic but it has resulted in some GTK applications (and multiple Qt applications) not having the correct scaling factor applied. I have already fixed this for Qt applications but now I would like to fix it for GTK-based applications like the GIMP and other programs.
Here is an example of what I mean:
The whole user interface of the GIMP is at 1x (unscaled) while the file manager is at 1.5x or 2x; it's the perfect scaled size.
How do I fix this? With a tweak tool or use gconf editor or something else?
I am using gdm (Gnome Display Manager) and gnome3 (regular, not classic) on Ubuntu 16.04.
After switching from Unity, I am not able to see any window decorations on all windows.
I cannot resize the windows correctly and I have seen no option on how to turn this on in the Compiz Settings Manager and in the Gnome Tweak Tool.

I'm running Ubuntu off a USB drive and I can't install it to the hard-drive yet. Is there a way for me to install more applications on the USB drive so that everytime I boot I can use them without re-installing?
Empathy shows up in my window picker list and it appears to be started according to the indicator applet and the process manager but I can't see any of its windows! People were sending me messages and there was no empathy window to switch to!

I want to view threaded email conversations in Evolution. Is there a menu option for this? By threaded conversations I mean something like what Google's GMail does.
Is there a graphical tool or maybe a command-line one that lists all the messages and parameters/arguments that I can send to a DBUS-enabled program?? I really want to try scripting some DBUS things but I can hardly find any documentation for the DBUS capabilities of most applications.
My gmail account is properly set up and shows a list of folders, Inbox, Drafts, etc. But it has an additional folder all [Google Mail] and in it I can see All Mail, Spam, etc. I want to disable it and disable the subscription to it so that it doesn't appear in the interface at all.
