I am using Ubuntu 16.04.02 LTS 64bit (Unity desktop) with latest 4.4.0.x kernel. My hardware is generic laptop with folowing specs:

• RAM: 8Gb
• CPU: i5 4200M (Haswell)
• Ethernet: Realtek RTL8168
• WIFI: Realtek RTL8723AE

My daily work consists on using or creating virtual machines for development purposes. I observed that whenever I start VM that mounts directory from the host file system using NFS my ethernet NIC just dies.

I just get "Ethernet Network() device not managed"

This never happened on Ubuntu 14.04 that I used before on the same machine.

Any ideas?

I am creating a custom systemd service script that works fine. However I would like to execute a custom script when:

sudo systemsctl enable myservice.service

is executed.

Is this possible?

I am using Ubuntu 14.04 64bit with Unity desktop. It is fully updated setup with latest version of ca-certificates and latest available version of firefox.

The other day I was trying to download something from Harper's website and noticed that curl is complaining about certificate.

If I execute this cli:

Which is silly since Harper's certificate is issued by DigiCert and Firefox ships with that certificate.

Any suggestions?

I recently had a need to do a clean reinstall of my machine and for the most part things are working ok. However when trying to connect my BT headset (Noga NG-55BT, generic BT headset) I am unable to get any audio sent to the device. It registers just fine and machine detect's it but that is as far as it goes.

I looked into similar issues on this and other sites tried all kind of things and no luck.

I am trying to set up a vagrant image using Ubuntu 16.04 64-bit without a desktop envionment (pure server), that contains a working GNOME Keyring. Nothing I've tried so far has worked.

Any suggestions? Is it even possible?

I am running a clean install of Ubuntu 16.04 64bit. When trying to install libnss3 I get this error:

sudo apt-get install libnss3

I was experimenting with ubuntu-make and can not figure out how to specify path for installation so that it does not ask me every time I install something.

This is kind of a workaround:

echo "\n" | umake ide eclipse

Is there a better way to do this?

Following my previous experiences with setting up Cisco AnyConnect VPN connections on Ubuntu 14.04 I tried the same approach here by installing packages:

sudo apt-get install -y network-manager-openconnect-gnome network-manager-openconnect network-manager-vpnc network-manager-vpnc-gnome vpnc vpnc-scripts

Even after this an option to create Anyconnect compatible VPN connection does not appear.
