I am wanting to install MySQL 5.7 on Ubuntu 20.10 but have not been able to find any tutorials etc on how to do this.
So far I keep trying different approaches based on 20.04 but there doesn't seem to be a simple solution if you are running Groovy.
Is it possible?

How can I debug this issue and is anyone else experiencing this issue?
I was not having this problem till I upgraded to 19.04.

How can I flush the DNS on Ubuntu 17.04?
I seem to have a few DNS issues at the moment since upgrading to 17.04 from 16.10 and went to flush the DNS but I can't find how to.
Can anyone tell me please?
I have just upgraded to 16.10 from 16.04. I currently have PHP5.6 installed and have just tried to run a command in the terminal which is throwing the following error:
$ drush cc all
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Undefined class constant 'MYSQL_ATTR_USE_BUFFERED_QUERY'
When I search online for how to resolve this I keep finding results that tell me to enable things like the php5-mysql extension. However I already have these extensions enabled.
Does anyone know how I can debug this and resolve it?
I'm finding MySQL 5.7 to be a massive memory hog and want to roll back to MySQL 5.6.
However everytime I try to uninstall 5.7 and install 5.6 I end up with a MySQL service that won't start. Also I need to make sure I keep all of my databases.
Can anyone tell me a simple step by step on how to roll back mysql from 5.7 to 5.6?

I have seen images where both the speaker volume and mic sensitivity have sliders for adjusting them in the drop-down menu from the speaker.
However after upgrading form Ubuntu 15.10 to 16.04 I don't seem to have a mic option.
How can I enable the mic slider to show?
I am trying to revert my PHP version to 5.6 from 7 and though I removed PHP 7 and then installed PHP 5.6 I still seem to be running version 7.
Is there a simple method for moving through PHP versions where apache, phpMyAdmin and co are configured appropriately?
A simple way to change the current version of PHP on the fly and even site by site would be great.
When I was upgrading from 14.10 to 15.04 my mysql somehow broke.
When I run

I am trying to get the Untiy desktop (That I am used to using) running on a Ubuntu box that is now headless.
I already have a fake desktop running via the Xorg dummy display driver. When I VNC into to it however it loads a desktop that just has a terminal.
Can anyone tell me how to get Unity to load despite having no monitor?

I have an NVIDIA 8600GT graphics card and am currently running the X.Org nouveau display driver.
When I boot I get a normal 14.04 login screen with no issues. Once I log in I see my desktop as expected. Then when I click on the Unity menu icon in the top left the menu flies out as expected but the screen darkens a little over and over until I have a blacked out desktop. Mouse cursor remains normal though.
If I right click about the screen sometimes the right click menu with jog the desktop into visibility again but then it quickly reverts to the blacked out state.
Does anyone know of a fix for this issue?
When I try to install the Ubuntu SDK on my 64 bit Saucy I get a missing package issue.

How can I close a root process "unknown TCP" that shows up in nethogs?
I think my box has been pwned and using nethogs I see a root process of "unknown TCP". Can anyone tell me if this an expected process, what it may be for and if/how I can close it.
I changed my user password to try and stop this person but I am unsure yet if that is enough.

How can I restore my sublime text after upgrading from 13.04 to 13.10?
After upgrading I noticed the sublime launcher was missing from my Unity bar. Can I restore it without reinstalling sublime? Version 3 I think.
My sublime-text 2 editor no longer starts when I click it's icon in my dock.
The icon does the normal slow pulsing for a while (unity) but nothing seems to load.
How can I determine why sublime has started failing?

After upgrading from 11.10 to 12.04 I find I am randomly logged out while I am working.
I have no idea why this is happening.
Can anyone suggest why this is happening and perhaps a method to fix this most unproductive of issues?
