LMD's questions

Whenever I utilize any (except for --version) adb command (adb devices, for instance), my system completely freezes and I have to reboot. My laptop is a Lenovo B50-30 running a (relatively) fresh Ubuntu 18.04 installation, no phones are connected. What do I have to do in order to get adb working ?

What I have already tried :

• Connecting phone
• Changing BIOS settings - disabled legacy USB & changed legacy to UEFI boot
• Running adb using sudo
• Removing tlp (sudo apt remove tlp)
• Checking whether port is in use (sudo netstat -tulpn | grep 5037)
• Upgrading adb (sudo apt upgrade adb)
• Running different adb commands

Update : I have tried a different computer with (relatively similar) specs but an older Ubuntu (16.04) and also an older kernel, and it worked pretty much seamlessly.

Please look at this strange border - I have Firefox opened, as usual, but after pressing some keys a strange border appeared(can be seen between the dash icon and the google logo, overlapping the Firefox window) :

Note that this border overlaps everything, not only the firefox window, bot also the background wallpaper etc. and can become quite annoying.

This border stretches over the entire screen, but I didn't want to bother you with a 1900x1200 screenshot...

What can I do to "fix" this, ie remove that ugly thing(ideally without rebooting or logging off) ?

Plus : Is this a bug or a feature ?

My version is 16.04.

However, the difference is that I'm running Apache under a XAMPP setup.

PHP looks like this :

What I tried to solve it, according to the accepted answer, and what had already worked in a "normal" Apache setup :

sudo chown www-data:www-data "/opt/lampp" -R
# I also tried chown with <myUserName>:<myUserName>, but it didn't work either

Next thing to try will be chown with daemon:daemon.

But still, the error message keeps appearing, and the file isn't there yet, too.

How can I get the toner info from a Samsung CLP-360 with Ubuntu 16.04.02 ? It says not supported by the printer, but in Windows, it works.

In my Ubuntu, if I export a mp4 using Openshot, its not the same as I can see in the video preview, its shorter, I mean from every single clip there are a couple of seconds cropped away... Please help.

So, I have a couple of ext4 partitions on my harddisk, and another time, I got a copying speed of 8-12 Mb/s, but now its around 1-2 Mb/s, and because I'd like to copy 70 GB, thats a way to slow. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have a fresh Ubuntu 16.04.02 install, and I also tried mounting it manually using mount /dev/sda4 /media/user/. Probably thats my fault ?

• Using Debian Jessie I got 30 Mb/s copying exactly the same files
• With another partition that I didnt mount manually I got 8-12 Mb/s
• It isnt on another harddisk, it's my builtin HDD with 500 GB capacity on which I have multiple ext4 partitions. On this HDD is also my Ubuntu .

• I dont think that the files are so small, but they're all different, many around 1MB, a lot of small txt files and programmes around 5-100 KB, and even some Ubuntu isos I downloaded..., but they're not so small, like for example containing one char and having a filename that is as long as possible...

I took the power from my laptop with Ubuntu 16.04 and NetBeans 8.1 off, and now, when I'm trying to run a project that worked before this, I'm getting the following error :
