I had a 15.04 system where the window manager decorations disappeared after I installed Nvidia drivers. I removed and purged them, but the decorations never came back.
So I reinstalled to 14.04, hoping this would fix things. With 14.04 and Nouveau, things worked fine, but when I mounted my /home disk from the old system, the window decorations disappeared again. I tried renaming .cache/compizconfig-1/, and then .cache/ but neither did anything. Where is the offending file?
My ethernet-connected ubuntu box and my wirelessly connected lap both have 192.168... addresses. I just plugged a second ubuntu box into the router, but it gets an 84.210... address. I can ssh to it from the others, but not to any of them from it. What's going on?
I have an old computer that can't handle a boot stick install, so i have to create an actual, old fashioned boot CD.
However, the image size for Ubuntu 12.04 is 732MB, which is too large for a CD, which can hold only 700MB.
The maintainers of Ubuntu 12.04 say the image size will never go over 700MB, and indeed, the download size seemed to be 689MB.
Brasero says it won't burn the CD because the file is too big, what's going on?
