Ok so I have two drives for general data and two for videos on my server now running 18.04.1, I have all 4 drives mount at boot but when I go to add the line that the tutorial suggested my system won't fully boot rather it just sits on a screen just after the networking has been processed and rather than giving me the option to log in it comes up with root@my-server, if I delete the lines for each drive from fstab then the system boots as normal but I need a way to launching the mhddfs drives at boot, any ideas?

The line is:

mhddfs#/mnt/Data1,/mnt/Data2 /mnt/Data fuse defaults,allow_other 0 0

Alright, so I am new to using the server version of ubuntu and even newer to the /etc/netplan. I have tried creating a .yaml file but always seam to make mistakes with the syntax, I have xfce4 installed on my 18.04.1 server and it comes up with the Ethernet symbol in the top right corner but when I go into it I can not edit the current adaptor and when I try to create a new one all the options are greyed out and inaccessible. So does anyone know how I can set my ip to 192.168.0.2 so my modems firewall entries don't need to be changed?

How do you make HDDs and partitions mount at startup on Ubuntu?

I always keep my media and data files on separate partitions - one 2tb HDD and a 400 odd gig partition. I have been trying to swap the default folder location for the home directory to my other drives.

It works when I change the /home/user_name/.config/user-dirs.dirs file to the directories I want, but only until I reboot the system. I am only assuming that the drives not mounting is the problem with it, but it would be helpful either way. If any one knows another reason for why the directories change back to default each time that would be good also.
