I have tried to reinstall the software-center, but without luck. anybody ever managed to fix this problem? i really like browsing for software..

So, I am thinking of making an instructional on how to install Ubuntu with unity from minimal installer.. and i was wondering about the necessity of installing the printserver package at the installer. The reason why i did this before is because of an instructional I earlier saw, but I can't remember why I would need to do so.
So my question is frankly: Do I need to install the printserver when installing ubuntu from mini, or does this install with ubuntu-unity-desktop package?
In an attempt to avoid the gnome desktop completely, I installed Ubuntu from the minimal installer and installed Unity after with the command sudo apt install ubuntu-unity-desktop. This in VirtualBox.
For some reason nothing seems to move smoothly. There is a red marking where normally the box would just move (as in picture) and when switching workplace etc. It just jumps directly.
So does anyone know why this might be? Is there something I need to install or configure or is it because of the VM?
