I recently installed Ubuntu 20.04. Everything works fine. I wanted to customize gedit, but I was surprised that the minimap option is not available anymore.
How to get it back?

I did some googling, and I found this command:
watch -tdn0.5 ps -mo pid,tid,%cpu,psr -p \`pgrep python\`
Which outputs:

Well I am not sure if the previous command really does the trick or not.
If anyone could give an explanation, I would be grateful.

Few days ago, I installed Ubuntu on my PC, everything works fine.
It happened that I traveled to another country and I am still there. So whenever I run the update or try to install anything from Ubuntu Software, nothing works, although my internet works fine and I can access to internet using my PC (I am using it now to write these lines).
I tried to change the server to one of the country's servers where I am now, but it didn't work. So I changed to the Ubuntu main server, it also didn't work.
I restarted my PC, run sudo apt autoclean and sudo apt clean, nothing changed.
I still get these errors whenever I run the update process:

The problem is not that I don't have the right links in /etc/apt/sources.list. My problem is that when I run the update, the links that appear in the terminal are not similar to the ones I have in /etc/apt/sources.list
Also when I updated /etc/apt/sources.list as Raffa said, I still get similar errors.

The default bookmarks folder in Firefox is Other Bookmarks.
Is is possible to change it to Bookmarks Toolbar? (If possible without add-ons).
I am using Firefox 68.0.2 (64-bit) on Ubuntu 18.04.
I am using Ubuntu 18.04 and my GNOME Shell version is 3.28. When I opened Ubuntu Software and checked the installed software, I found that there are 2 different versions of GNOME runtime (3.26 and 3.28):
Before Ubuntu 18.04 was available, I was using Ubuntu 16.04. And I was using sudo apt-get update, sudo apt-get upgrade and sudo apt-get dist-upgrade to do the update and upgrade stuff.
With Ubuntu 18.04, I changed to to use apt instead of apt-get. What was weird for me is that sudo apt dist-upgrade has no effect anymore: I do the update and upgrade using sudo apt update and sudo apt upgade, but when I run sudo apt dist-upgrade, nothing happens contrary to when I was using sudo apt-get dist-upgrade.
When I used sudo apt-get dist-upgrade some packages were removed and others were installed. However when I run sudo apt dist-upgrade, nothing happened at all.. All what I get is:
sudo apt dist-upgrade

Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Calculating upgrade... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
And this happens every time since I started using apt instead of apt-get.
Is it something related to apt (i.e sudo apt upgrade replaces both upgrade and dist-upgrade) or what is the issue exactly?
I want to delete multiple images having resolution less then 228x228. For that, I wrote this shell script:

EDIT: Even after I added spaces after the brackets, I still got an error. It was due to the usage of < instead of -lt and has been fixed. Now there is no error.
I have a folder containing like 1500 files, I want to rename them automatically via the terminal or a shell script as follows: "prefix_number.extension".
Example: cin_1.jpg, cin_2.png ...
I am writing long lines of data to a text file using Python. But when I open the text file using gedit, I don't find that the lines that I wrote are displayed into one line each (i.e every line from the data that I wrote is divided into one or more lines in the file as shown in the photo).
What I want is to be able to scroll horizontally with gedit so that the lines that I write will be displayed in one line each.
Is it possible to scroll horizontally in gedit?
Sometimes, after I run some commands (for example git commands), I discover that I forgot some configurations or forgot to put some requirements... . So I thought about displaying a message, to remind me or warn me, (like the one displayed when we run sudo apt upgrade:
The following packages will be upgraded ... Do you want to continue [Y/n]?)
I want to get a similar message when I run a specific command ("Did you check the conf files, did you update the requirements file?) When I type Y, the command run and when I type n, the command stops.
How to do this in Ubuntu?

When I uninstall it and reinstall it again, the package is not downloaded. Instead, a cached version is used to install it:

Sometimes, the installation get corrupted, or problems occur during the installation. So I need to reinstall the same package again. but since there is a cached version, the re-installation will use the same corrupted version. So I need to delete that cached version in order to do a clean installation.

I know that 'root', 'daemon', etc. .. are groups or user names, but what does the rest of that mean (:x:0:, :x:125:, :x:126:, ...)?
Sometimes I see in many websites' tutorials the use of sudo -H + command for example sudo -H gedit /etc/apt/sources.list. However I know that sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list can do the work.

But I am working on a project where I need gcc less than version 6.
When I tried to install gcc 5.4 using sudo apt install gcc-5.4, I got this error:

I installed indicator-notifications following this answer but, contrary to what was told in the answer,
You will find a little mailbox in the panel:
there was no icon of the tool appearing on my top-bar after I rebooted my PC.
Also, I tested the tool using : notify-send 'test message', I got a normal notification as I used to get before installing the tool, but my question is about viewing the history of notifications (like in a log file or something like that), which I didn't get using this tool (may be I miss-used it).
I used Hotspot to share my Internet connection with my phone for some time. Since then, whenever I start my PC, Hotspot directly starts and I can not use Wi-Fi (on my PC) unless I turn the Hotspot connection off.
Is there a way to stop Hotspot from automatically start?
I've been here for a while, and sometimes I see people answering questions related to shutdown or restart problems with this : "delete "quiet splash" from the /etc/default/grub file".

This is not about "new release missing or not found", it is about user experience while trying the new release.
I am using a PC that runs on Ubuntu 16.04. While I was browsing the packages that have been installed, I found this one "account-plugin-facebook" (in addition to many other similar packages like account-plugin-flikr, account-plugin-google...) although I didn't install anyone of them.
My question is: What are these packages for? and can I remove them without any harming my PC?
