Over the past 2 weeks (after installing Ubuntu 18.04 from scratch) I have had problems on and off with the Signal messenger app. It sometimes doesn't start up at all. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't seem to help. I think this happened after some Ubuntu updates came through. Any idea how to get Signal running again?
obelix93's questions
I use LibreOffice on Ubuntu 18.04. Touch screen scrolling doesn't seem to work in the app (I have it working outside the app and in other apps such as Firefox). In LibreOffice it just highlights text (like a mouse would do). Is there a way to enable touch screen scrolling in LibreOffice?
I am trying to get WebEx to work on Ubuntu 18.04. I have followed these steps, and now I can kick off WebEx and see participants. I can even see a shared screen, but I cannot share my own screen (or app).
Any idea what is missing?
Edit: As of the last 2-3 weeks I have WebEx working under Wayland. I'll be honest, I didn't do anything special, but I assume that the upgrade of certain drivers in Ubuntu made the difference. Screen sharing works partially: In WebEx you have the option to share your entire screen, or to share an app. Sharing the entire screen shows a black screen for all other participants, but sharing an app shows the actual app-window nicely displayed for the participants. I have now run several WebEx sessions from my Ubuntu 18.04 successfully (under Wayland).
Canon DCR225 Scanner
After installing Ubuntu 18.04 (clean install) I can't get my scanner to work. I am trying to use gscan2pdf, but after it detects the scanner, the scan button is greyed out.
On my other laptop (Ubuntu 16.04) it works fine.
Any idea what can cause this?
