I used to use Citrix receiver on Ubuntu 16.04 for a while Switching to 18.04, I want to continue using Citrix.

I downloaded and installed citrix receiver 13.8 following this official guide without any errors: https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/receiver/linux/current-release/install.html

When I triy to vonnect using a provided connection file (.ica), I receive the following error message in a window:

Verbindung mit '0.0.0.2 - Desktop EMEA' kann nicht hergestellt werden. Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden.

English: File or directory not found

I tried to debug by setting PrintLogThreshold=6 in the connection file. Unfortunately o additional information about the error is logged.

Using the same connection on the old Ubuntu 16.04 installation works as usual at the same time.

How can I debug? Why is the IP-address all-zero?

I would like to add a 'virtual' printer to easily send PDF output from any software. The printer should be a script which then processes the PDF output. Use-case could be "print to cloud storage" or "print to archive" etc.

The possiblities I discovered so far are:

• CUPS pipe backend (described here) which seems to be not available on Ubuntu.
• tea4cups (from this thread) which forwards the file to lp after pre-processing it. But I do not want to actually print it.

Is there another simpler way to just get the PDF piped into a custom bash script?

I am using a JBL Flip 3 Bluetooth speaker. The device works very well with my smartphone. I can also use it with my Ubuntu 16.04 laptop. However, the connection procedure is quite annoying. After some time I managed to find one process to get it to work:

0. Play music in Spotify. →sound comes from internal laptop speakers
1. Switch Bluetooth on
2. Select the speaker* toggle connection switch to "on"
3. Open sound settings
4. Select the Bluetooth speaker as sound sink, the mode is on "HiFi (A2DP)"
5. Play music in Spotify. →nothing to hear
6. Select "Headset Head Unit (HSP/HFP)". →sound comes from Bluetooth speaker in low quality
7. Toggle the speaker's connection switch to "off"*
8. Toggle the speaker's connection switch to "on"* →sound comes from Bluetooth speaker in low quality
9. Open sound settings
10. Select "HiFi (A2DP)". →sound comes from Bluetooth speaker in hifi quality

* Actions chosen from the Bluetooth icon in Ubuntu menu bar.

I have to repeat this procedure every time I want to connect the speaker. After every reboot, suspend or when the speaker shuts down for power saving.

My question: Where should I search for what is going wrong?

My approach so far was to look for messages in dmesg. I find some errors there:

But, I can not find anything helpful here.

I have problems using my wifi connection under Ubuntu 13.04. As many others also reported, Thema realtek driver RTL8192CU causes connection problems.

Edit: This happens on two different machines (Ubuntu 13.04 and Ubuntu 12.10; Kernels 3.5, 3.8 & 3.9)

In my case it seems to disconnect every time the kernel tries to reduce the TX power: wlan1: Limiting TX power to 27 (27 - 0) dBm as advertised by ...

Question: is it possible to prevent the kernel/driver from doing this?
