I wanted to know if Apple's FaceTime, designed for iOS, could work on Ubuntu 18.04 as well. Maybe through an emulator. Do you know if there is any way to install FaceTime on Ubuntu? Or do I need an emulator? Which one?
Akane Yoshinega's questions
I'm recently interested in DNS for a cleaner, faster & more secure Internet surfing. In my country many websites are obscured and I was told that changing DNS may allow me to use them as I did before. I also don't like to share my metadata with others and some DNSs, such as the ones provided by OpenDNS, seem to provide more privacy to the user.
Is it true that changing DNS results in a more secure web experience?
How do I change DNS on Ubuntu 18.04, and most importantly, which DNS should I switch to?
I wanted to add a cover art for a mp3 album I have on my laptop.
I do use Rythmbox, but I'm unable to add a cover art for multiple mp3 files of the same album and I have to do it one by one.
What can I do?
I recently bought a QNap I use as download station, so I switched from downloading files with uTorrent on my PC to downloading them with Transmission on the QNap.
I use Transmission Remote to control downloads from my laptop and smartphone.
Sadly, when I try to add multiple trackers to boost a frozen file, Transmission says me that I added an invalid argument, because it clearly want me to add trackers one by one.
There is a way to add multiple trackers at once, as I did on uTorrent?
I suspended my Aspire E 15 laptop (Ubuntu 18.04) for a couple of hours and when I switched it on its own keyboard wasn't working.
Then, when I plugg in a USB keyboard (which I'm now using to type this question), it does work.
The touchpad seems to work, as well as the keyboard's power on button.
I tried to rebbot it, update drivers and so on, and nothing worked.
What can I do?
I own a Aspire E 15 laptotp where I installed Ubuntu 18.04 because I fell in love with this OS.
I later discovered that games doesn't run very well on this system because they are simply not designed to, even with compatibility layers like Wine the performances reached are terrible and the hybrid GPU design of my pc doesn't allow me to fully experience the dedicated Nvidia card.
My laptop uses UEFI and some people told me that I would never be able to install W10 in a double boot configuration with Ubuntu, is it true?
I've recently installed Ubuntu 18.04 via Live USB but when I reboot the computer to complete the installation, this message appeared:
After Clicking OK
this other window appears:
Rebooting the computer Ctrl + Alt + Canc and loading the BIOS, I discovered that is actually this:
So, I can't load Ubuntu. I've tried to install Ubuntu again a number of times, with no effect. Try Ubuntu
works fine, but I cannot do anything else.
What can I do?
I want to reset my laptop's hard-drive and create a dual-boot system, using both Windows 10 (for gaming) and Ubuntu 18.04 (for everything else). Currently my PC uses Ubuntu 18.04 as sole operating system.
After formatting the hard-disk, what should I install first? Ubuntu or Windows?
I know that in the second case I need to restore the Ubuntu's GRUB because Windows has this tendency of overwrite the master boot record, but that a minor issue for me.
Thanks!
