I am currently using Lubuntu 18.04

I thought that theese are the 3 right code lines to drop cache:

sync; echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches

sync; echo 2 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches

sync; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches

I've tried three all with and without sudo and the output is permission denied.

 sudo sync; echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches

bash: /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches: Permission denied

I have all windows closed, no applications running but still permission denied...

I am clearly doing something wrong, Could anyone tell me which is the right way to drop caches in Lubuntu?

I am currently using Lubuntu 18.04.

When I press Impr-Pant in my keyboard the png archive generated is stored directly in my home folder.

My question is:

Can I configure Print-screen key order to be stored in my pictures folder?

I don't want to install anything like shutter or another programs, I just want to store my print-scr captures in my pictures folder.

I am currently using Lubuntu 18.04 and I've installed qupzilla, named falkon.

I've set my configurations but I am not able to put my favorites after exported in my tool bar.

My question is, How can I make my exported favorites appear in my tool bar or at least...

Is it possible to reset qupzilla settings?

I have an old computer that is placed in a real nice place in my home so I can work alone, I use it to see films, series and work with my photos.

I've put it out all my hardware details (2GB DDR2 RAM, 146GB disk space on /dev/sda1) for you to check it.

I am currently using Ubuntu 18.04. but I've been told that I should be using Lubuntu.

I am not expert so, seeing my hardware outputs, what do you think? Should I remove Ubuntu 18.04 and install Lubuntu 18.10?

I am currently using Ubuntu 18.04 and Brave downloaded and installed as a snap.

I suspect that in spite of I have set Brave configuration to erase cookies and history, etc, information is been held up in some way.

But I can't find either cache or temporary files originated when I am using Brave Browser.

Can someone help me to find where are stored cache, temporary files and all data in Brave Browser?

If someone could tell me how can I be sure that Brave browser delete all data when I close it, personal configuration I had set up, I would be pleased to accept the answer.

I am currently using Ubuntu 18.04.1 and Gimp 2.10 and Firefox is updated to its last version Mozilla Firefox 62.0.3

I have a serious issue, while I am working on a photo edition using Gimp, and then I open two or more tabs, suddenly my screen freeze or Firefox crashes.

What can I do to avoid this?

Is is due to I use only one work-space? Is it a memory issue?

My problem is that I have to test a lot of links in order to check if it's safe to access the url and then check if the content is still working and I don't know how to do it with clamav.

My question is

Can I test a link with an antivirus before accessing it?

I have followed this steps to install ClamAV

1.

sudo apt install clamav

2.

sudo systemctl stop clamav-freshclam

3.

4.

Gimp 2.10 offers the possibility to change metadata but my question is that if I edit metadata using gimp...

Can I erase all photo metadata using Gimp?

Or it will be some metadata I can not erase using gimp?

Using Popcorntime I usually find one issue, when I try to find a film or some series or after I've watched 2 films, Popcorntime inform me a system error telling me that I haven't memory enough to report it.

I have always to restart my computer but I've tried another solutions too.

I've fixed my cache pressure to 50.

When that bug is reported I use this two commands:

sudo rm -rf /tmp/*

to erase my temprary files and

sudo sysctl -w vm.drop_caches=3 

to drop my cache...

This didn't fix the issue...

I have popcorn time configured to drop temporary files when I close it but it actually dosen't drop anything until I restart my computer.

My question is:

Can I erase temporary files stored in temporary files folder inside Popcorntime without restarting my pc?

I don't know if I have explained my problem properly, if anyone think that I have to express it another way I will gladly accept any help...

I use ubuntu 18.04.1 I've installed GIMP 2.10.6 using this PPA: https://launchpad.net/~otto-kesselgulasch/+archive/ubuntu/gimp I have tried to install beautify in several ways, using git and downloading the package but I came always with the same output... failed to make.

I download beautify from here... https://github.com/hejiann/beautify and I place it in my home folder, it is named beautify-master I open it into a terminal and try to make but although I have libgimp2.0-dev in its latest version, "libgimp2.0 is already the newest version (2.10.6+om-0ubu18.04.2~ppa)". I receive this output...
