I uninstalled several GNOME applications, LibreOffice apps and various other apps. How do I reinstall them all at one without having to reinstall the operating system?
Efefay's questions
So here's the situation.
I purchased my computer parts, assembled them and booted up as far as the BIOS. However, the splash screen would display with graphical errors so I followed the instructions in this link (The computer parts are here as well):
I can run Ubuntu w/ nomodeset enabled but I'd rather not for the following reasons:
- The TV appears as an unknown display
- I'm stuck at a lower resolution than desired
- HDA Nvidia sound doesn't register
I partially solved the lower resolution by typing in some commands in the terminal but it only gets me to 1024x768. Furthermore, when I choose 768p, I start having flickering red pixels in dark portions of the screen.
Looking at the video in the link previously posted, is there any way to run Ubuntu w/o nomodeset? Thank you for reading and any help!
I'm trying to install Ubuntu 18.04 desktop with Rufus on a computer with the following specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
- MOBO: ASUS Prime B450M-A/CSM
- RAM: G-Skill Ripjaws DDR4 F4-2400C15D-16GVB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX750
- PSU: Apexgaming AG-650M
- SSHD: Seagate Firecuda Compute
- mATX: Rosewill SCM-01
Basically it boots from the USB (FAT32) and brings up a black error screen with words and numbers. Then it transitions to the purple splash screen with "ubuntu" and 5 dots, however the screen shows various visual glitches depending on which USB port I plug into.
When trying to boot the computer, it boots to a black screen with the following error message:
ACPI Error: Needed [Integer/String/Buffer], found [Region]
Here's a YouTube video that shows what I mean.
