I've got two monitors side-by-side, one in landscape, and the other in portrait mode. For the portrait monitor, I would love to be able to snap windows to the bottom, middle, and top thirds of the screen. Halves is too much vertical screen space for most things I work on. Is there an application to customize the snap behavior to that extent?

Having a bit of a strange issue on 16.04. I just got some new speakers for the office (3.5mm jack), but unfortunately they don't seem to be recognized by my computer. I also have a Yeti microphone that's plugged in via USB.
When the microphone is plugged in, Sound settings shows only the microphone as a valid output device. I can select it and play sound through headphones connected to it, but can't make sound come through the speakers no matter what I try. This screenshot shows my sound settings when the mic is plugged in:
When the microphone is unplugged, no devices are listed under Sound settings for Output, but the sound will play through the speakers just fine.
The issue is that I would like to use the microphone as a microphone, and run my audio output through the speakers now. How do I get my computer to recognize the speakers as a valid device with the microphone plugged in?
Every since upgrading to 16.04, I've gone from dozens of sites in my apt-get updates to 6. I also get updates much less frequently, so I'm worried something broke. Is this normal behavior, or did I break something when moving from 15.10 to 16.04. Below is the output of my apt-get update:

I'm having trouble getting my (Win10/Ubuntu 15.10) dual boot set up the way I want. I have the following drives:
/dev/sdb, default boot in BIOS)/dev/sda, with GRUB installed here)Ideally I would be able to set the Ubuntu drive to be the default boot drive, and have GRUB with an entry for Windows to boot there if I want. I'd like to mess with the Windows drive as little as possible, since I always end up shooting myself in the foot in some weird way that requires a reinstall. What am I missing to be able to add Windows to the GRUB list?
I regularly use an external monitor with my laptop, so when I use it, I usually have the laptop screen disabled when the monitor is connected, and this seems to cause problems when the monitor is disconnected. If the monitor is connected while the laptop screen is disabled, I can't get the X session to show up at all:
Rebooting the computer fixes the issue, as does killing Xorg and starting it again, but both of those are sub-optimal since I lose my current session. I'm currently using the open source graphics driver (xserver-xorg-video-ati).
This question looks like it might answer my question, but unfortunately hwinfo is no longer available in the apt repository.
