The subject describes the situation relatively well. New install of Kubuntu 20.04 on a tower computer with an Asus Prime (Z390-a) motherboard. The process using the ubuntustudio-installer worked fine. I have used the installer before, however I added more groups this time, and have never used the installer on this computer.

After a reboot, the computer has since refused to complete a boot. However, I am able to Ctrl Alt F3 to get a terminal, login as user, run startx and get an X session without problems. I can provide more information if I know which logs to look in at /var/log.

On a hunch, I booted from the generic kernel, which I had no problems with before, and everything works fine. So, as a kludge, I have set Grub2 to boot the generic kernel as default until I can get sorted out what ever is wrong with the low latency kernel...

I have a new Dell laptop with a hybrid drive, that I would like to install Ubuntu Studio 19.10 on. What is the recommended method? I have never owned a computer with a hybrid drive before. Should Ubuntu Studio be installed using the drive as a RAID? Alternatively, installing Ubuntu Studio on the SSD part of the drive will speed up the boot and performance times, but it is only 256 GB. I use Bitwig Studio 3.1.2 and it isn't possible to move (unfortunately) all of the Bitwig folder contents in the /home/user/Bitwig\ Studio/ directory to another location. Thirdly, I assume that the non-SSD part of the drive would have to have a separate mount point such as /data which would require administrator privileges???

When trying to upgrade to the PPA version of Nemo, I get the following dpkg error:

I have tried the usual suggestions that I have been able to find and have even tried deleting the nemo.mo file, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas as to how to get this sorted? I am using Ubuntu 14.04 with Unity, but have Nemo set as the default default fire manager.

Using Ubuntu 14.04. Flac files only play for five seconds in Audacity and moc, then skip to next file in playlist. Files seem to be intact.

I can't seem to find anything relevant on this issue.

I just purchased a Lenovo IdeaCentre Q190, which has secure boot and uefi. I have minimized the Windows 8 partition to 100 GB. What I need to know is: 1) Should I move the free space to the end of the disk? 2) I need some help partitioning the free space to a /root, a swap and a /home partition.

I would like to install Lubuntu 12.10 on an Asus Eee PC Seashell 1015BX, but have noticed that there are a number of BIOS updates on the Asus support page. Does anyone have any experience updating an Asus PC BIOS before installing Ubuntu (Lubuntu)? The laptop currently has Windows 7 Starter installed.

I want to copy the default tmux.conf file to my home directory, but I can't find the location in Ubuntu 12.04. The man page states that the file resides at /etc/tmux.conf however this does not match with my setup.

How do I get all color panel icons in Lubuntu 12.04? I have tried changing the "look and feel" and the openbox settings, but there doesn't seem to be any way to get all color panel icons.

The subject says it all. I would like to either share local mail folders between Thunderbird and Alpine mail client, or export a set of Thunderbird local mail folders that I can import into Alpine.

I just installed VueScan and I need the path to a scanner icon that I can add to my .desktop file, so that there isn't a blank square in my Launcher panel. I have been unable to find anything in /usr/share/icons
