Since my Kubuntu 22.04 got the HWE kernel update from the 6.2 series(6.2.0-39) to the 6.5 series(6.5.0-14), I'm experiencing short ~30s WiFi hangs. Disconnecting and reconnecting from the network usually fixes them, and if I don't reconnect to the network, they resolve by themself after a while.

There is usually one hang ~5-10 minutes after booting up, and more randomly spaced hangs later on. The hangs are especially noticeable if I switch from an offline activity to the browser and try to open a website, only to find it not loading. For example, the "Similar questions" section randomly stopped loading while I was typing the question. I've not yet experienced the issue when playing real-time online games, leading me to think the issue might be driven by slow low-power mode exit in my wifi card. How do I investigate that?

Looking at dmesg, the odd things I can see is

I'm digging through journalctl -b -u NetworkManager output but there is nothing obvious. Further debugging suggestions are welcome. Were there any significant changes in mt7921e power management between 6.2 and 6.5?

Not seeing anything obvious in https://www.phoronix.com/review/linux-65-features/2, https://www.phoronix.com/review/linux-64-features or https://www.phoronix.com/review/linux-63-features/2. The most suspicious change is BIG TCP enablement in 6.3, but I'm not sure how to check if it's enabled.

I've ran into a strange issue today. After clicking on the "you have updates" icon on the notification panel, discover refreshed sources, found updates for the kernel and... nothing. The update all button didn't appear for at least 20s, so I closed discover, clicked on the notification and got greeted with the same result. So finally I started discover from the terminal to see if it was throwing any errors.

There were plenty! The text up to the TypeError's showed up quite quickly, and the rest of the messages, as well as the missing update all, appeared while I was searching for the error message in ubuntu's bugzilla. No luck on that front though. I did find a suggesting I need to reinstall discover. I ran sudo apt install --reinstall plasma-discover, but discover didn't get back to it's usual speed afterwards.

So, does anyone know what's the problem? I tried to search for kns, but I didn't find any packages other than knot-dnsutils. As its description doesn't fit the errors, I'm assuming the missing KNSBackend is part of another package.

While updating worked, I am not happy with how long it took and I'm wondering how to fix it. I'd be happy to provide additional details if that helps. My Kubuntu 19.10 was originally installed as 18.04 or 18.10 and dist-upgrade'd, and I'm using the amd64 cpu architecture. The only unusual thing in my setup that Ubuntu devs probably don't test often is that I've purged snapd and removed plasma-discover-snap-backend.

I've extracted the userdata partition(ext4 format) from my Android phone and mounted it on Kubuntu 19.10. I was trying to figure out what the . in ls -l output stood for and eventually discovered it represents an SELinux context. However, I'm not sure how to view these SELinux ACLs. What's the SELinux equivalent of getfacl?

Based on it's manual entry, secon --file should work, but it only outputs secon: SELinux is not enabled

Ubuntu has included an AFL package at least since 16.04: https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?suite=bionic&searchon=names&keywords=afl

However, I was surprised to discover that it is no longer present in 19.10. The last version with the package appears to be 19.04, see link above. I've tried searching for reasons for removal, but without much success. There is nothing on discourse.ubuntu.com or bugs.ubuntu.com.

I'm curious to know why Ubuntu no longer provides prebuilt packages for AFL.
