Recently cpupower stopped working when calling it without sudo.

I have the following line in /etc/sudoers/.

dimfred dimfred-schlap= NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/cpupower frequency-set *

Is this correct? AFAIK * should normally replace the following paramaters.

My usecase would be to call this line from a script with attached parameters. E.g. sudo cpupower frequency-set --min 0.8Ghz --max 0.8Ghz

When I run the command I get still prompted for the password.

The weird thing is that everything worked and suddenly broke. I don't know what happened there.

Running on: Ubuntu 20.04 Kernel 5.4.0-48-generic

EDIT:

So I came around with writing subscripts. Those call a kind of "profile" (parameters for cpupower), the scripts itself are called without parameters. They work properly. Still would be interested why the above does not work cause I am not very pleased with having n extra scripts for each profile I have.

EDIT2: So the answer was: order matters. I had first my command then the include. Found it in this answer: Why is sudoers NOPASSWD option not working?

I know it seems like a duplicate but I can't find anything especially related to terminal icon.

What I tried so far:

  1. Modifying /usr/share/applications/gnome-terminal.desktop icon no changing

  2. I copied this file to ~/.local/share/applications hence created a new app in the menu => old terminal disappears new icon is there BUT when clicked terminal opens and appears with it's old icon in the dock

  3. I replaced every terminal icon I found in the themes but here again no changes

  4. Also replaced the utilities-terminal.svg in humanity theme also no help

The fun part is that when I am trying to add my terminal from the application menu to the dock (add to favs) it adds BOTH applications to the dock.

Really really strange I have no idea why. I am out of ideas now.

so I am trying to change my icons for specific applications.

In my case I changed the chromium icon to a custom one. I copied the chromium.desktop from the snap directory to ~/.local/share/applications changed the icon entry to my path icon path. The icon in the application menu appears and it works, but the old icon persists also which is not that bad because I don't use the application menu.

The thing is now when I click my new icon chromium opens, but with the old icon. Meaning the old icon and the new icon are now in my dock. (btw the same for vscode)

What am I missing?
