The updated VM is accessible via Azure's web-based "Serial Console" and appears to be running/partially functional. However, it is neither able to ping a remote URL nor can it be accessed remotely resulting in ssh: connect to host 123.4.56.789 port 22: Connection timed out. Port 22 is open per sudo netstat -tunlp. I have rebooted several times as well as "redeployed" per Azure's troubleshooting suggestions.
Any ideas?
I've had to install the driver per https://github.com/tomaspinho/rtl8821ce a couple times on an ASUS laptop and each time it works for a while before breadking. I have looked at dozens of "solutions" although none have really resolved the problem permanently (ie, I have to uninstall/reinstall the driver after a while). Now, however, I can not get my Wifi to run at all without a USB dongle.

I have a binary that can be executed with command "run-binary" (not the actual name) and determined that it is executing per the following path:

I have downloaded and unpacked an updated version of run-binary. 2 questions:
After upgrading from 18.04 to 19.04 (with a necessary upgrade to 18.10 between) on a Lenovo Yoga 11e, I can no longer drag and drop anything (ie, files, windows, etc.) with the touchpad. I can, however, move things around using the touchscreen. Whenever I attempt to do so with the mouse, though, sometimes it turns into a hand. Whether or not it turns into the hand or remains a pointer, the icon will not move anymore. IOW, as soon as I left-click, the pointer freezes in place until I release the touchpad.
