I am trying to remap my caps lock key to a new key combination like ctrl+b for using tmux. I spent hours googling but all explanations are just cryptic or only cover remapping a key to only a single other key and not a key combination like ctrl+b.

I found this other post here but once again the author asks how to remap to a key combination but only gets told how to remap to a single key. I am getting really desperate here.

Could anyone please tell me how to solve this? The man pages and all other posts in this forum or anything I found through Google was useless to me. I would be really grateful for your help.

P.S.: Please do NOT post an answer telling me how to only remap a single key!!!

So I have a pretty cheap webcam and while it is 1080p, the colors and saturation all are not that great. Is there some software that can help me edit the settings for the webcam which will persist gloabally in applications like Zoom and Discord?

I am running Ubuntu 20.10.

I found two tools in this article. The two tools are called Gtk-v4l and Guvcview but they both do not work for me.

So I am planning on dual booting Ubuntu and Windows 10 on my desktop. Ubuntu as my main OS for everyday tasks, learning and dev stuff, and Windows just for gaming.

I want to install Ubuntu on my NVME SSD and Windows on my regular SSD. They are each 1TB in size. I also would like both drives to be encrypted, Ubuntu with LUKS and LVM and Windows with Bitlocker.

From the stuff I read so far there seem to be 2 methods for this.

1. Installing Windows, unplugging the Windows drive then installing Ubuntu and using the UEFI boot menu to boot into the desired OS.

2. Installing Windows, then install Ubuntu leaving the drive connected. Boot menu is handled by GRUB.

Most of the people seem to say that the second method is better, but one would have to manually partition the drive in the Ubuntu Live system during the installation. I have not been able to find a proper guide to do this with LVM and full disk encryption and since I am still kind of a newbie to Linux I am worried about breaking my drive.

Some people said to simply create a single encrypted LVM partition formatted as ext4 while others said to also create an unencrypted boot partition and also one for the boot manager.

Which method would you recommend? And if you recommend the second method as well, could you provide me with the proper instructions on how to partition the drive during the install?

So I have recently switched to Ubuntu 18.04. LTS and I'm getting a lot of screen tearing especially during video playback on e.g. YouTube. Could anybody help me fix this? Note that I'm completely new to Linux.
