An HP2560P is outfitted with a Fax Modem per the spec. Efax-GTK requires the correct address / location of the Fax Modem:

How does one determine serial device & lock file parameters to configure Modem Parameters in the first screenshot?

I am trying to attach a file in the "Send Fax" wizard of HP Device Manager (HPLIP 3.20.6).

In the window called "Select Files to Send", I click on the "Add..." button, and I get the error

Unable to create io-slave. Can not create socket for launching io-slave for protocol 'file'.

This has nothing to do with the specific location of the file I want to add, because I get the error before I can choose location.

Aside from this, the fax wizard works as expected.

I am on Kubuntu 20.04, I have a usb-connected fax modem, and I installed the following packages:

efax

efax-gtk

sl-modem-daemon

I ran: sudo gpasswd --add shmuel dialout

The modem is identified by VirtualBox as: Conexant System, Inc. USB HSF Modem

When I send a fax I get this output:

So I just set up a fax station with an external modem and I'm trying to upload multiple files to send out to one number and I get the error saying the File does not exist..

I mean, it does exist, I selected them on the local drive. Am I missing something?
