The Spotify client installed from the snap store is barely usable on HiDPI displays and there seem to be no built-in options to scale the UI. Is there a workaround to scale it?

I am on Ubuntu 16.04, I cannot play, pause, go to the next or the previous song in spotify. There are many answers but most are complicated, is there a simple solution that doesn't require a command line?
I have a Logitech bluetooth keyboard.

When I try to install an application I can not and it tells me:
Cannot install "spotify": snap "spotify" has "install-snap" change in progress.

I am trying to run Spotify on Ubuntu 12.04. It used to work some time ago, when I tried to start it today, I got the following error:
spotify: error while loading shared libraries: libudev.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
how to fix it?
I tried
sudo apt-get install libudev1
which however gives an error saying that it does not exist (any more)

A while ago Spotify (the streaming music service) came out with a preview for Linux of their client.
So what should I do?
