Questions[usb-c](ubuntu)

I have a Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 7 with Ubuntu 18.04. This devise has one HDMI port and two USB-C port. I want to connect two external monitors on one USB-C port.

When I ran xrandr, I get the following:

Then I got one of these USB-C adapters with 2-HDMI ports, connected it to the laptop using the USB-C port and connected the two external monitors on the HDMI output of the hub.

The problem is that the two monitors show exactly the same thing, and when I go the Display setting, I only see one monitor. It seems that the two HDMI ports on the hub, are detected as one device.

This same thing happens when I use the other USB-C port. So my question is that if there is a way to have two external monitors using this hub or similar hubs from one USB-C port.

I have a laptop with a USB-C port to which I connected my USB-C earphones (earbuds from Google, not the Bluetooth ones). The device is correctly listed in the audio output channels, but selecting them doesn't affect the audio system, which continues to output from the laptop speakers.

As you can see from the screenshot above, I selected the device, but when I press "Test Speakers" the audio keeps coming from the Laptop Speakers.

I tried pavucontrol and the USB-C device is not listed there. See screenshot below

If I use the command line utility speaker-test, I am able to force the audio through the earphones. Specifically this command works perfectly.

speaker-test -D plughw:earbuds -c 2

Any suggestion on how to route the system audio through the earphones?

Do they exist?

Just bought two from eBay and neither works.

Sorry if this is obvious, but I am a bit of a novice. I am using an Acer Nitro 5 laptop with a dual boot (Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS using Budgie). I have 2 fast charging ports (one usb-3 and one usb-c) that are indicated with a battery icon next to the port. When I boot into Windows, if my phone is plugged into either port it will charge rapidly at 1.5 amps. When I boot into Ubuntu I can only charge slowly at .5 amps using same cords etc. Is there anything I can do to get the fast charging under Ubuntu? Ubuntu does recognize my phone and has the correct model number for it when I plug it in, and allows data transfer.

Legacy USB is not turned on in BIOS.

I have a 50% functioning setup with HP Thunderbolt 3 dock (ASMedia ASM1042A) on Dell XPS 13 9350 laptop in kubuntu 16.10 (currently upgraded to kernel 4.9). BIOS upgraded to newest available (1.4.13)

The display ports and power supply work without any problem. The external audio port starts to works about 10 minutes after the boot. The USB ports do not function at all. The problem is visible in logs - dmesg is constantly (and forever) displaying:
